OT: horn tooting

I'm in Dave...but we won't talk about it.

BTW...I was at a show today and got to handle some $4-$12k...what? Yeah...that's what I said..$4,000 to $12,000 dollar knives. Guys had pictures of movie stars with them as they were buying knives from the guy.

Impressive work...not impressive movie stars.

There was this one particular Warncliffe folder...all fileworked an purdy...amazing execution. It was only like $7,500...I was reaching for my checkbook but then remembered that I didn't have two bodyguards and a personal assistant with my checkbook in attendance...so passed on it.

Just found out that this Ad ran in the latest issue of Blade magazine...(don't have my copy...:()

Wahoo!

Can ya tell I'm stoked about it?!?

(now just need to make some stuff to take with me.....*sigh*)

This is really awesome to see Dan! :D With the vision I have seen in some of your knives, I expect one day YOU will be one of the BIG names in knifemaking.
Vision and Talent+ Great Knives! Good for you Dan! Good Luck with the show when it comes. :)

if the American knifemaker scene is currently obsessed with Japanese kitchen knives, why not make the unagi-saki?
It is an eel cutting knife, but it looks like a wide-bladed tanto, its awesome.
nice black same handle, cool. (21cm blade)
The kanji is: 鰻サキ

in reality, though, japanese kitchen knives, even the expensive ones, have throw away handles. whenever i go to the knife section here, there is a shelf underneath all the knifes with replacement handles....
