And the answer is....iTP C7T!! 1 AA Battery, completely variable from 6 Lumens to 190 Lumens, very instinctive interface to vary brightness, and has a rear clicky switch for ease of use. Mine was less than $40 from goinggear.com. I also picked up the iTP A3 EOS upgrade (1AAA) for just over $20.
I use the iTP C7T everyday at work for equipment inspections and it is without question the best, most convenient light I have ever used. I have already made a believer out of a buddy of mine who also ordered one from Goinggear and is very pleased with his purchase.
I can honestly say that if I lost this light I would order another one the next day.
