OT: Need a new rifle and would like some opinions

Ive got a tavor. Had to try it as im a lefty. Nice shooter but if your an ar guy, it may not feel right. I am upgrading it as we speak. Gissele trigger and bow, extended handguard and such. Should be shooting like an m4 soon.

Bob's Gun Shop in Norfolk will create a trust for you for free if you purchase a suppressor from them. Just wanted to let ya know in case you didn't.

Oh really? Cuz I was just looking at the silencerco trust. But a free trust for a short drive is worth it. I'll have to call them and see what they are selling the Sparrow at. That I for the great info!

Most people disregard the S&W's as budget guns but most of their mid-priced AR's are excellent IMO. Fit & finish is top, very accurate, 5R is awesome, as reliable as any gas gun out there.
I'm not a big fan of Colt but right now a LE6920 can be had for around $750 or less... Definitely not a bad option

It doesn't have to be one of these new gas and piston jobs. I don't mind cleaning my gun. The more I look the more I lean towards the REC 7 but that's one no local store has so I'd have to order it and I'd hat to order it and not like it.

An AR should last thousands of rounds without cleaning with the right lube. I have a DI rifle with over 2200 rounds through (around 800 suppressed) and have never cleaned it. It's dirt but keeps on trucking.

One of my POFs I have over 1200 through without cleaning, about 600 suppressed. It was fairly clean before the suppressor, good amount of blowback onto the bolt and into the action, but again, it keeps right on going.

When I spend money on a firearm it has to prove itself reliable, and that means running it until it's too filthy to work. My ARs keep going despite the gunk inside.

Only one that won't last over 1000 rounds is my 8.5" 300BLK suppressed. 9.2gr of 5744 doesn't burn all the way so there's powder granules everywhere. I'll keep lubing and shooting it, but at this point it's so dirty (450 rounds of 5.56 before I converted it to 300BLK, which sits at about 300rds) it's hilarious

My first Ar was a kit gun and it ran unmolested for 5100 rounds before the poison rings finally spun to the right place to make it a single shot. Re positioned them and went for another 2k rounds before doing a major cleaning and selling it. It was a dpms Oracle kit. So even what people consider garbage will run for a long time neglected
