Hay Mark after listening to all these remarks maybe you should look at Arizona, just stay away from the high rent area, Phoenix, Sedonia and a few others. When I see all the trouble with other places Quartzsite sure looks good. A lot of snow birds in the winter but for 8 months it is real lonely here no one to bother you cheep rent, forge year around except for a few days a year. Gib

Actually, you only have to control a "county." The Sherrif enforces what laws the people deem appropriate, and he has to get re-elected.......In Northern California, around Yreaka, the Sherrif doesn't enfore the pot growing laws......The whole economy is built on it. Weird stuff, but true.
The feds come around, but they locals get warned first.

Pretty state. My brother lives one hour from Atlanta, and I've been there many times. Interesting thing for your kids.......if they get a B or better average in HS, then college is free in the state!! My sis in law goes camping all the time in the Smokies, I guess they're called, and loves it, too. Being around the high sierras all the time, makes those a bit to small for me
People that live above 10,000' elevation seem to have a bit more common sense than flatlanders, IMHO.........NC is beautiful, too. At least what I've seen of it. Somehow, after growing up in California, even Texas seems a bit camped. It's the pull of the Pacific coast next door or something...No neighbors to my left, if you will.
