OT: Today sucks

I was at Seymour Johnson (The Shady "J")...Avionics (WCS) at that time.

Do you know when I was stationed in Mississippi going to tech school I had 2 black friends(actually we were lab partners in class) named Seymour and Johnson. We were walking on the beach one evening when a local constable came up and asked me if my mother knew where I was. I responded with " i hope not" ....That was not a great answer and I found myself at the local jail. Needless to say JJ(who was from MS) was a basket case thinking he was going to jail for " being with a white girl" and Seymour(being from NY) was just calm cool and collective. When they asked me for ID I showed them my military ID and of course was promptly let loose. They did lecture me on the fact that the only thing those black boys wanted was   .....speaking of which is also what my first back DR said was excellent therapy  ......I better quit while I"m ahead. :D

MamaV...LOL....you're too much girl! :D

Laughter...the second best medicine...

Well, that explains it. I was pretty sure I would have remembered those curlers if I'd seen them.
Being a native of Utah, I tried to get Hill & couldn't. Spent my time at Ellsworth in South Dakota, RAF Alconbury in England, and K. I. Sawyer in Michigan.
Sorry I missed you.
Always thought the Phantom was a neat looking plane, and nobody ever stole one I was told to guard. Perfect record there.
Hope you can get to feeling better, wish you luck.
Denis

You should have told him that your MOther knew exactly where you were. You were out trying to Seymore Johnson.

Ginger, I was on opiates for 8 years for back pain, three ops, and a heap of other stuff including getting addicted to narcotic pain killers, I can say I feel for you, sending email, ref. mine came good just for no real reason after many years of S..t. Smoke on its way from Oz. Rod

I wasn't under them, but no one was more important to me than the crews that kept me safe. I truly feel for you since back problems have come close to ruining my life, but can guarantee that you will get through this. Hang in there.

Thanks guys, took 2 sleeping pills and slept ok last night. Spasms still going but do think laughter is a great medicine so I'll tell you another war story

JP reminded me of how I did appreciate good flight crews :) ...and then there was the LT fresh out of flight school and thinking he was God's gift to all women. Well the plane we were suppose to launch broke so they sent us across the line to another. Well I went up the ladder to unpin the seats and he, being the front seat guy, came up after I started to move back to unpin the back seat. I guess he thought my back side looked good so he decided it needed a little pinch  He moved real fast when i came down after him chasing him across the flight line with my 7-level(ie the little screwdriver we kept handy for buttoning up the final panels on launch)yelling and giving him a piece of my mind. The boss was laughing so hard and I was stubborn and I guess really I asked for it because back in those days we wore white t-shirts, and hot weather, sweat and white t-shirts do NOT go together.   :footinmou I"m proud to say I did not hurt him and did not get an ART 15 for insubordination or any of that sort of thing

It was more than appreciation...these guys meant LIFE to us drivers. Thanks Gin for doing what you did even if you ran into the occassional HUGE ego. Any stick worth his salt put his crew above everything else.

Mama,

I hope you find some relief for your pain. I think the LT deserved to get poked with a screwdriver, and doubt you would have been in any trouble.

.45-70, that just wrong.

John, having sympathy pains. Speaking of which (mama and Nasty) that "therapy" you mention can cause pains elsewhere. Use in moderation... :D

MamaV ?

Er...uh...Gin?

" hot weather, sweat and white t-shirts do NOT go together."

I don't want to argue, but I believe your conclusion is a matter of perspective, and perhaps not universally shared. ;)

EVERY junior officer deserves a smack once in a while. Makes the brain think instead of react. It's usually better to come from someone senior rather than the ranks, but once an officer realizes who actually supports his day by day life the ego goes and being responsible takes over. Sometimes that process takes longer than it should, but if it wasn't for a certain E6 I would be dead.

...good day for a hug :)

Gin,

Just moved and was out of touch for a few days.

Back pain is the pits, but i DO have an answer for the upset stomache: Prilosec. I have suffered from acid reflux for many, many years. After taking this stuff, I have no more stomache problems (ecxept it is too big!).

You can get this stuff at any drugstore.

Hi Gin, how are you feeling today? Hope your feeling better. After my wrist surgery, I was in constant pain for about 6 to 8 weeks, so I can partly understand what you are going threw. My prayers and thoughts are with you. God bless.

Gin, Smoke and prayers headed from Prescott to Mesa. As an Army type, I always had the highest regard for the C-47/C-123/C-130 flight crews that took us to work, and politely let us out mid-flight:rolleyes:. Rarely missed the drop zone. But falling 30' out of a tree and landing on a canteen taught me a little about back pain:eek:. However, I can't imagine a chronic condition like you've been living with. I hope the witch doctors can find the right mix for you! -- Jim
