OT: Unsettling Phone Call (update Pg.3)

I agree with jball and Gravelface; they can't say much over the phone. Best wishes for good news, and please keep us posted!;):thumbup:

Best of luck to you. Hopefully, it'll turn out to be nothing. This is only my second post on these forums (forii?). Funny, but despite all the bad stuff the Internet can spread, it can also make total strangers reach out and support each other, too.

On a totally unrelated note, is that really a pic of Pokey1 at the top of the thread? Cuz, I mean .... dang. ;)

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger! Pokey is great to deal with as well, better leave it at that :P

Pokey, Lexi, and Lora are ALL great to deal with, as well as being good-looking!;):thumbup:

Dont get panicky you don't know what it is until you speak with them.

Be safe. Best wishes and regards.

Hoping for the best buddy.

my thoughts are with you. Don't freak out too much, doctors don't give out info over the phone, so just hang in there. I know waiting stinks, but that is all you can do. Best of luck to you Dan.

Holy cow! First off let me say thanks everyone, as soon as I logged on and saw how many replies have already been posted, I got a strange, warm feeling in my stomach, then my eyes got blurry and almost leaked :) I really almost have a hard time thinking of what to say (ask anyone who knows me, NEVER happens ;))

Well, hopefully if brain surgery is necessary then you will at least have the option. I just found out yesterday that my mother-in-law has an aneurism near her brain stem, no surgeon will take a chance at surgery because of the close proximity to her brain stem. She was lucky to make it to the hospital when she had complications in the past, but we are told that at some point she will not be so lucky. I hope everything turns out OK for you, thoughts and prayers from Colorado.

I'm sorry to hear that man :( A good friend of mine up here on the mountain has a similar issue with his heart. He had bypass surgery 10 years ago, than another heart attack recently and they say they can't operate again... Sometime I really hate being mortal...

It could be anything; fusiform aneurysm on a small vessel, etc. I don't want to pry, but how soon did they want to see you? My wife and I wish you all the best, and try to stay relaxed... have a shot or two of scotch!

My primary doc called yesterday and told me that whoever read the scan noted that (then she started reading the note) "there are two "artifacts" on..." I don't really remember the rest, I got kinda hung up on the artifacts thing like there were ancient Egyptians in my head a long time ago. (I mean, they could at least take their crap with them...)

She was honest and told me she didn't really know what it meant either, but that it sounded like something with blood vessels.

I guess they make their own appointments, my primary care doc's nurse said the neurosurgery department would call to schedule. They haven't called yet :thumbdn::confused:

Prayers sent! For all you know, it's a new area of the brain that is triggered by INFI and dr.'s are just now finding it. Don't think about the what if's or could be's. 90% of the stuff people worry about never comes true. So just go on and end the day and just keep moving till you find out what they want

:D I was thinking they could use an INFI scalpel :D

Hope you get good news. As someone with a small brain lesion, I can tell you they don't always operate (sometimes they can't), so they treat the symptoms. But they aren't allowed to tell you anything over the phone, because some people misunderstand the info and react badly. So it is always in person, in my experience. Best of luck.

That makes sense about reacting badly, I wish she would have (or could have) told me that.

Smoke and prayers. Who knows? Maybe they saw the outline of a magnum bear cub that you lost while sleeping and are just asking if you want it back... just trying to lighten the mood, in truth I believe that all the positive thoughts people are sending your way will help you, and never worry yourself over something you haven't heard yet!

I was thinking they're going to tell me I have a bacon shaped aneurism and I need to knock it off lol

Speaking of... In my fridge, too pretty to eat (so far, but I still have other bacon :)):

Thanks, I appreciate it. Nice people are universal, I know I don't have to intimately know someone to want to help them and actually since the military put me on disability, I feel like I get paid to help random people. My body and mind might not be 100% anymore, but I haven't lost my heart...

A big thanks to everyone, I feel about a million percent better than I did earlier. I was on the phone with one of my "real life" friends and told him the situation, he said (please keep in mind he is about as far away from any kind of medical professional as you can get...), "they have make a big cut from your neck all the way up the back of your head and pull all your skin over to get in there..."

Thanks, dude lol

Don't panic yet! Hang tough, brother. In looking for a spot of bright, I'm thinking that if it were really bad news, they'd want you in there ASAP.
Smoke rising & hoping for good news that doesn't involve brain surgery.

Hi there dan, someone Iknow recieved a call similar to yours once...but the call went like...have fun, talk with your family, and enjoy RIGHT NOW, and meet me in the hospital first thing in the morning with nothing in your stomach ( because of the anesthetics)). ...THATS A SERIOUS CALL, do what your doctor tells you, youll be alright bro, you are young (82 model right?)... Believe it or not, that means pretty much everything in medical terms.

Best of lucks bro....

Best wishes sent Dan, hope all is well and will remain well

Hope everything turns out OK! At least someone seems to be looking closely at the MRI besides the radiologists.
