OT: Watches?

Gshock adapters.

Forgot to add, automatic watches are not the most accurate watches. They can be adjusted to be more accurate. Considering there are 86000+ seconds per day a few seconds off is pretty good for a spring power watch. If you have to be within a few seconds everytime you pick up your watch you are better off with a quartz or digital or kinetic. I have had a Seiko out of the box be -3 sec per 24hours. I also had one 30sec fast per 24 hours. Most autos have a 40-46 hour power reserve. So if you do not wear it for a few days it will be dead and you will have to set the time and date. Once you figure out how far off your auto is you just set the time a min or two fast or slow and reset the time every couple of weeks. An auto will never need a battery but will need to be cleaned and lubed after years of running. Some say every 5 years, some say only when they start running different. If properly cared for they will last a lifetime.

I love autos. There is just something about a mini precision time keeping machine on my wrist depending on me to keep it alive and ticking. Be careful with watches. They can be addictive like knives and guns and can get expensive.

I had a nice watch that had a digital compass, but the strap broke and before I could replace the strap, my wife picked me up the one above. No compass but it's solar powered, which I like.

I've had this (Suunto Vector) on my bag for ages now.

I only put it on when I'm actually trekking or something similar since it's a tad on the big side.
I also had a classic g-shock and they are great

Enjoy your mudman :)

After many months of researching for a new watch (with tritium vials) I just bought a "KHS Navigator MKII". I have to say there wasn't much info on this company, so I relied on testimonials. On a side note, there is a very funny (at least to me) sniper advertisement on "youtube" concerning this watch company.

Anyway, once the watch arrives, I'm hoping it lives up to my expectations.

My Mudman showed up today! Read through the whole manual and I think I've got the functions mostly down. At least the ones I'll be using. The buttons are a little stiff but not enough to complain about. It's very comfortable and not as bulky as I was expecting. I'm liking this watch :) I'll get some pics up at some point. Hopefully this weekend.

Sparkem, thanks for the link to the CountyComm adapters.

You're welcome.

Hey, someone used you and are together correctly on a forum.

Payette, the beep and automatic illumination can be turned off.
