OT: Worst Movies Ever - to be avoided

The first Conan film was the story of a fairly low budget production where everything came together. Many powerful directors wish they could return to the ease and naturalness of one of these. It just happens like that occasionally. That is when American Cheese is greatest.

I've always wanted Conan to return, as N2 suggests, with more of the story line of his rise to power. The other Conan movies were disapointing. I would also like Mel Gibson to do another Mad Max movie but only if its sole point is not to try and one-up the others in crashes and explosions. We might as well watch Lethal Weapon 4 otherwise. There has to be something based upon this now white haired, heavily armed desert rat trying the last time to get his place in a new start.

Ill add a few.

Really really disliked Lord of the Rings. At first I thought it was because I saw the midnight showing, but after trying to watch it during the day I realised it was just plain bad. They could have made a much better movie with only an hour and half. The things that made it worse, was all the junk they decided to add.

Also did not like Independence Day, Godzilla (the remake), Goodwill Hunting (was a janitor at the time), all Pauly Shore movies, most Adam Sandler movies (havent seen Punch Drunk Love, and Ive been hearing good things about it, so Ill wait before I say all), most Lifetime Movies (sister loves them though), there are a whole bunch from the 80s that I really found bad, but have fortunately purged their titles from my brain. There are more that I didnt like, but then there are more that I did like.

stupid movies, even some of those listed, so I'll stick to the WORST movies in my opinion:

1. Gor (Yor?) from the future - Made Battlefield Earth loook top notch. Only film I've ever walked out on.
2. LawnmowerMan 2: Job's War.
3. Highlanders 2, 3 and (oh gods) 4.
4. Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth
5. Scorpion King
6. City of Lost Children
7. Any BatMan movie done by a director other than Tim Burton
8. The Avengers
9. Dracula 2000
10. Queen of the Damned
11. The Crow 2 & 3 - might as well have been 2 hours of neo-goth music vids)
12. Most anything from Troma Team videos (Except re-animator)
13. RoboCop sequels
14. Recent house haunting movies (Haunting of Hill house, etc)
15. Rollerball remake.
16. Titanic--did anyone not knnow how this was going to end? Duh.

I am sure there are other really bad ones that my subconscious might have blocked from my waking mind.

I should mention I have weird and perhaps unconventional views of cinema...Kurosawa, Peter Jackson, Tim Burton, David Lynch, Kevin Smith, Terry Gilliam, Quentin Tarantino, John Carpenter, Farrely Brothers, Independent films also. I like some campy stuff, and not others.

I do agree with Federico about the hundreds if not thousands of movies seemingly made for rerun on Lifetime. I understand they are individualy titled though I've never been able to tell the difference between one.

Ferrous, I didn't particularly care for Tim Burton's Batman, though it was better than the others. If hollywood had left him alone....And when will they learn Batman is a large man, not a small man with a large costume? Your tastes sound to me very normal for a 'modern', Ferrous.

Kinda strange.

I started reading The Lord of the Rings when I was quite a bit younger and just couldn't get into it so it was one of the very, very few books I started but didn't finish.
I was into more Sci-Fi at the time and not into the fantasy stuff.
Recently I decided to try again as the QPBC ran a special on it. What I didn't know was that The Hobbit was the basis for the rest of the books so I waited until I got The Hobbit so I could read it
first.
Having all the books before me helped a great deal and by reading The Hobbit first The Lord of the Rings made a lot more sense to me.

I really liked the movie in spite of it's length and thought it followed the book really well.
I'm anxiously awaiting the rest of the movies to come out!!!!:)

Kinda strange in our taste's about movies, but perhaps some people would find our taste's in knives to be sorta strange as well.:D

I dont know about you guys, but I have a certain place in my heart for a good "B" film.

Yes, most of these movies suck, but there is a place for a movie that you can fold laundry to. (read: not a lifetime flick)
My mother watches Lifetime Flicks, and yes, I feel sorry for Dad.

There are also movies that I grew up with that I watched with Dad that have a special place in my heart. "The Last Star Fighter", "Escape from New York", "Enemy Mine", and all of the of the Star Trek Movies and Series. (So I am a dork, Give me a break.)

I liked "Lord of the Rings", probably because it came out as I was around 1/2 way through the book.
Guys, I hope they do a good job on the 2nd movie. The blades, weaponry, and fight scenes should be spectacular if they do. Uncle will probably end up with more than one "LOTR" special request, and the khukri will reign supreme!
(Not that it already dosent.) Back to the books...
