Just posted in the intro thread, but I'll post here too.

Here's my Fender Deluxe American Bass sitting in front of my GK 410GLX half stack and Backline 600 amp.

This is my main gig rig. Someday I'm going to put the 15" under it to complete the stack.

And here it is doing it's thing:

I used to play percussion instruments as a kid, now I want to learn to play harmonica. Any suggestions?

I used to play bass in a progressive rock trio. my rig was a carvin bunny brunell 5 string and an ibanez sr400 through a digitech bass processor of some sort into a hartke 140 2x10. (CRAPPY amp that hartke was...blew the cones 3 times....and NO i didnt play loudly nor with a ton of bass....sucked)

When starting out I would start with a Harmonica with a Plastic Comb because wood can swell when wet.

There are a lot of good cheap Harps out there to start out with.

In time you will end up with a shoe box full of harps.:)

BTW I started playing these while Driving Taxi. Nothing like getting Paid to Play. :D

How did you learn? Just puffing away? I want to play like the guy from Blues Traveler!

Here's a quick photo of my instruments. Real passion is drums though. Debating on whether or not I should ditch the 6 string bass and put the $$ towards a drum set.

How do you like the Brice 6'er? I've been kicking around getting one, but am reluctant to drop the cash without knowing much about it.

There so much out there to learn from now.

When I started I was on my own. I bought One book that started me with the Basics of Blues Harp.

A Guy heard me playing and wanted jam with a Harp Player and said I should take up Guitar, which I did.:)

Other than (after a couple of years playing harp) One lesson from a Pro Harp player that I met while playing Guitar, it was all on my own.

Get started, These are a lot of Fun.:)

I go back and forth on it. I have big hands so the size doesn't bother me. When I first got it I loved it. Since getting the 4 string I haven't played it as much. Just when I've convinced myself my Yamaha is the only bass I need and I pick up the Brice to play it before I decide to sell it, I decide I'll hold on to it a little longer.

I find the Yamaha much easier to play being so light and having fret markings, but if you don't mind the weight and are good at finding the notes (I'm not) I think you'll really enjoy the Brice. It's good, just a bit much for a beginner like me. I think I'll go play it right now actually :)

i got the same halfstack and head as noshtero. i started out on bass, playing metal mostly, now i have mellowed out and play scandanavian folk music on acoustic guitar. looking to get into banjo also. i play a mouth harp some times too, but that requires very little skill. my bass is an ESP LTD viper 254, white finish (one of the coolest looking things ever) and my acoustic is an ibanez talman in black, which is much more me.

I'm playing a borrowed Fender Strat through a borrowed spare rig. My SG should be done in a few months. I'll probably put a few knives up on evil-bay and get a Behringer V-Ampire LX112 which is enough to get a violation of lease agreement. :D

Right now I'm running a borrowed Line 6 Pod through a Crate Power Block and into a Randall 2X12 Road Warrior Cabinet.

I am playing a Ibanex tr75 five string bass that was built in 1998 and I have started to rebuild a custom body with a new neck 72 p-bass pickups 75 pbass machine heads and a adjustable ebony bridge, I made the nut from a scrap of mastodon ivory I had kicking around so should be good once I get it all finished up. For now I just use a pocket pod at home with head phones but the spot where I start to jam the guy has a pevey TNT for me to use until I can get a fat stack, I am thinking either mid 70 acoustic head with 4x10 and a 15 or the local shop has a ampeg svt 3 with 2 x12 but I have to wait till the new year for that,

I also have a yamaha acuostic and a lee oscar in C

I just started to jam with some guys playing a blues rock stuff, but we are writting stuff with a celtic mandoline(sp) player that is pretty progressive, very bela fleckish (not that I play even remotely close to Victor Wooten not even remotely!!!).

my harp has a spot in my BoB, for sure.
