Anything that can be MACHINED from steel can probably be made from damascus....the problems are:

1. What will the surfaces look like after machining and etching?

2. How will the billets be made, and of what materials?

3. How much money do you want to spend?

To be honest, using stainless steel hardware and selective etching with acid would produce some very cool effects without much of the added expense. If you have your heart set on damascus, I can recommend Gary House as your man.

As an example, a .45 slide from Caspian in Stainless steel retails for $250.00 +/-....in damascus, the cost is $925.00 +/-

The Drapers make a few very interesting items, I have a pair of Damascus Dice they made, as well as a pendant of Damascus with silver accents and a nice turqouise I bought for my wife.. They also have a dominoe on their site. Mike also made me a Sam Brown Stud for a sheath Mr. Long made for me.
