OUCH! my thumb! *Warning - a little blood*..now ALOT of blood** UPDATED PICS!

You'll be fine, just dip it in some gasoline then touch a lighter to it to help kill any bacteria that may be in the wound.

Seriously......looked like it could have used some stitches but I've seen worse heal without them.......hopefully there is no nerve damage.

i have used butterfly strips before.

i have a buck sirus and forgot to put the lock on well forgot the knife was in my back pocket, i put my wallet into my back pocket and went to pull out my wallet a little later that morning and ended up slicing my finger, just used butterfly strips. bled like crazy and hurt as well.

so now no more knives in back pockets. and if it knife has a lock on it, i use it.

I've found if I don't get stitches within 6ish hours it's maybe not such a good idea to stitch it up.
Something about the 6 hour mark with me... not sure why.
It seems that every time I've been stitched after 6 hours have passed I have more issues than if I just would have let it heal normally.

me - a guy who has had a bunch of stitches

After 6 hours, the wound is considered dirty. Suturing it would entrap bacteria that are assumed to already be in the wound. Don't use superglue. It's not supposed to be used on wounds like yours.

I have had a couple cuts simalar to yours and mine healed fine with no nerve damage or stitches needed. I think you will be fine.
