Our "Front Porch" ....

Well it looks like it finally happened. I've always said I would never have anything fall off my lap when getting out of the car. Never dropped my phone off my lap getting out of the car, knife, anything. But it finally happened...dropped a watch off my lap. I took it off since I was sweating a little, and it fell face down and broke the glass. Least it wasn't one of my nicer ones, but still...

Ugh! That sucks! Im sorry that happened. Made for a cool pic though :). I have broken 3 watch faces and 2 cell phone screens in the last 14 years by hitting them on machine tool tables in my shop. The tables are the exact height of my wrist and pocket. I learned the hard way to face my screen in, and to take my watch off. At least you get to go watch shopping now right?

Well damn!! I hate it when stuff like that happens. That is a cool pic! Sometimes we just have other stuff on the brain when we get out of the car. I do it to my phone every once in awhile but it has a good case on it.

Poured rain here all day yesterday... No rain yet today, a little overcast... I'm hoping to get outside a little today when it warms up a bit.

Hope you all have a had a great weekend, and enjoy your Sunday!! The only thing I have on my list is a Sunday dinner over at my SIL parents for her birthday.

Figured I'd end with a funny quote I came across "A group of politicians deciding to dump a President because his morals are bad is like the Mafia getting together to bump off the Godfather for not going to church on Sunday."

I'd take that mountain view all day long. That is a great view. Love being in the mountains. Enjoy yourself with a relaxing afternoon.

Hey Guys, just got back in from a quick overnight on the boat in Prince William Sound going after some shrimp. This was my first trip out with this boat, I like it ;)

Hooked up and ready to roll:

It was a quick but glorious trip. Other than a bit of chop coming back in today and some 3-4' breakers yesterday I couldn't have asked for better weather, I love waking up to glassy seas. The water in most of those pics is anywhere from 300-1000' deep. Saw sea otters, Dall Porpoise (swam around boat several times), 3x Killer Whales, a bunch of seals, a few bald eagles, and a couple bushels of spot and tiger shrimp ;)

Left good camera at home, but tried to take a pano with the iPhone..

Amazing pics Shane. I really liked the picture that followed the "random scenery" comment as well as a few others, and that last panorama.

I have been shrimping many moons ago in Florida, enjoyed it nearly as much as eating them.

Has anyone told Al Gore about that glacier?

;)

Shane that looks like a great trip. That is a monster shrimp! Thank you for sharing those incredible pictures. Alaska is very beautiful. I'm glad you finally got to take your new boat out on a shrimping expedition. :)

Wow, that looks like it was a good outing. Glad you got the opportunity to get out and enjoy nature and pull in some shrimp to boot.

I almost felt like I was on the bow of the boat with those great pictures! You live in a very beautiful place ! Thanks for sharing.

Such gorgeous pictures Shane! I am very happy your maiden voyage was successful. CT is beautiful but not in the same stratosphere of AK.

Thanks for sharing!

Shane...."Sunrise the next Morning"....awesome picture.....glad you had a great trip and got to enjoy the boat.
The shrimp you caught.....not so small.....it seems like you have found a way to really enjoy all that Alaska has to offer.
