Ouroboros

I like the belly on the knife, I like the amount of purchase it seems to have for its size(big hands), and I think the ergo's look comfortable. If the price was right I would get one, but I can but a brand new PM2 for that price. I'm not interested in getting it to try out since my opinion is all conjecture at this point.

Saw some first impression videos of the knife on youtube and it's bigger than I expected. It looked smaller in the videos from the different knife shows. Perhaps Eric's hands are big :). I had the idea that it would be slightly larger than a Dragonfly, but it looks to be about the size of a Delica/Caly.

Got mine in today! The ergos are fantastic, feels like it will be great for slicing and detail work. I wouldn't want to really beat on this since the handle is delicate and doesnt fill the hand, but for anything light to medium this knife is going to be great. It arrived centered, without play, and sharp. Its not a drop free pivot yet, but its also brand new. I'm gonna use it and try and break it in for the next few weeks.

Not that it matters, but the knife arrived hair shaving sharp and with a very even grind. The clip is nice and stiff for a wire clip, and holds very tight to my pocket.

I love the weird looks of this knife, I've never owned anything quite like it.

I'm still on the fence about mine.

The real advantage of this knife, in my opinion, is the design. This is one of the few Spydercos without a edge heel. That means it's easier to sharpen the end of the edge and it doesn't impede a deep slice cut.

My guess is the knife is expensive because of the extra complexity due to the compression lock. I'm a bit "ehh" about VG10; not my favorite. But I do like the plain black G10.

I got to handle one at the SFO a couple of days ago. It sat in my hand pretty well and I liked the ergonomics but nothing spectacular for me. It's really unfair though to judge ergos without using a knife. I also didn't find anything special about the Stretch when I first handled it and it has since become one of my favorites. What I am sure of is the blade shape is not for me. I don't care for wide tips with heavy drops. All that said, it is a neat and interesting design and I suspect many folks will really like it. Reminded me a bit of the Lava.

I don't think. It will compete at that price point. There are too many better alternatives for that kind of money.

Definitely way too expensive for the materials used. For that price I would expect some higher end cts or cpm steel, at the very least. Looks like a great knife, but I'd only buy one for half the price it's listed at.

Maybe Spyderco could have offered this design in the Tenacious group, so that we could warm up to it. Then move production to Seki, or sprint run it later. That price point, is just....whoosh.... too steep. If it were Chinese made first, I'd have given this one a chance. It's a conversation starter for sure and I don't really mind the blade shape.

Not a big fan of VG10 though, so that, and the price killed it for me.

I've seen almost no hype for this knife post release (though plenty pre release) so I'm guessing that its not a very successful seller so far. Between here, reddit, and instagram ive only seen a tiny handful of other people with one so far. Gotta be the skyhigh price right?

Really like the looks of it and that it is actually larger than expected. But no chance at that price. Sorry for this great looking knife.

I'm guessing the collaboration "tax" is part of the high price on this one.

It really is a bigger knife than I anticipated. I'll eventually try one out, it's certainly a unique design.

I can't get enough of this design.

For those confused about grip position, don't go full deep into the choil and finger valley, pull back just a bit into a trigger-finger like pinch grip, and slice away! Amazing getting the edge that close to the surface without dragging knuckles.

Great size, perfect balance, and proven materials. Rides in pocket like a pocket knife should, set it and forget it! Ace action, too!

You all whine so much about price, like Spyderco is trying to pull a fast one on us all, lol...

Quick comparo photo I took when I first got it. Some like-minded designs and similar size knives. Paramilitary 2 for common size reference.

Might snap another one later... forgot to throw in a Native, Delica, and Sage, etc...

I've loved this design from the moment I saw it. The price is the only thing keeping me away. I'm not saying that it's overpriced, but it is $167 and that's a lot of money...and you can buy quite a few 'nicer' Spydies for less. :D
