I have no issue with them in the abstract, but at this price point I certainly feel phosphor bronze was warranted. To me the action is smoother and handles grit better.

It looks like the Junior's sexy cousin...

I don't need one, but I can see myself buy one somewhere down the line because of the unique looks and compression lock.

I like the shape. Looks like a skinner, as someone mentioned, but it also looks likea good food prep knife. I don't much like VG10 or flat slabby handles though.

Too expensive and too ugly.
Common materials.
At least it s unique. Maybe of interest to collectors.

Any brand but Spyderco, this is fair but if you haven't held it you really shouldn't rush to judgement. Spyderco are funny like that

Was super excited about this until I saw the price. Bearfacedkiller nailed it with the comparison to the Manix2. Manix is next on my list, but I love the idea of a Manix sized blade with a huge choil, compression lock, and a thin handle so it carries better. Trying to get away from huge knives now that I don't do so much construction work.

It never fails.. the ugly ones don't catch on quick enough, become discontinued, and then people finally start realizing how awesome the design is....they become highly sought after and price skyrockets.
This has been the case with so many knives from spyderco.
To be honest my absolute favorites from spyderco are the weird ones.
Spyderco Tuff
Superhawk
Captain
Breeden Rescue
Battlestation
Junior
Zulu
PPT
Lil Temp Rhino Horn
And so many more

I agree that spyderco has made some unattractive knives but this one? I feel like this knife looks great. It has smoth lines, nice curves and a beautiful plunge line. I am just not seeing this one as an ugly duckling and I HATE black peel ply. If this knife had polished black g10 and a nice polished bolster it would be a sexy beast. Even plain jane like it is I think it looks nice. It is also an intelligent design and functions very well too. Price and common materials are all that is holding it back IMO.

Here are some comparison pics. I don't really like black G10 so here it is with my other black G10 knives.
