Out of Africa...K'roo.

Longtime lurker here, and rare poster, but stumbled on this thread looking for my next inspiration.

I’ve got two from Willem a few years back.
Maybe I’m biased, but I think they’re the best he has put out…

GEC-48ish trapper and Coffin Jack, both with Kudu bone.

Thanks for sharing...very nice creations. The trapper is impressive.

Well having those blues is not a bad thing. Sweet coffin Kurt. It's always interesting how kudu takes a dye. 😍
Thanks Bob. I think the dye used is the same. The giraffe after bleaching is a bit yellowish. The kudu is white. I like them both. This kudu is pretty smooth.

Hello again Gentlemen :-) I guess this is as good a place to "re-enter" as any, although I will probably say hello on one or two other forums or postings too. Much in life tends to move in circles - and I find myself leaning more and more back towards proper knife forums rather than social media platforms. Not that the knife groups on places like Facebook are not great - many of them are. The problem is that everyone, including "non-knife" people and the algorithms also see your postings and some of them are very touchy on the subject of knives :-)
Anyway, we are still alive and kicking, and looking at some new projects. For one thing, I have started making more multiblade knives and for another, I am planning something special around the Chunky Frank - it dawned on me a week or so ago that The Frank is in its tenth year, and we need to do some sort of celebration :-)
In the meantime, this is the one I carry at the moment. It is a tribute to the Diamond Edge Keen Kutter from many moons ago, and I think in a slightly different configuration - they normally had an awl instead of the Wharncliffe blade if I am correct. This was a "proof of concept" build that taught me a lot, but did not quite make the grade to be sold....

The one above has been "inherited" (expropriated!!) by my youngest daughter. This is the next one, which has an awl instead of a Clip
blade - I consider it to be a Proof of Concept knife - finished to production standards, but there are one or two small technical things I'd like to change on an actual production knife - I need a smaller radius nail nick cutter for the awl, and I'd change the preload on the secondary spring slightly. Very technical and doesn't really affect the knife. I'll be posting this up for sale at a "proof of concept" price in the Knifemakers For Sale forum and also in the shop on the website - krooblades.com shortly20240820_205738.jpg

hope you put the discount back!!! almost considered that gentleman's lambfoot!
I usually discount all new listings for the first 24 hours, but this stockman will be at a discount "permanently" as it is a Proof of Concept knife. Gentleman's Lambsfoot.....message me

Folks, this is not the Exchange. Take sale discussion to DM or the Exchange please.

Rufus (Bob) you have incredible taste in knives.

I'm sorry I'm a little new to the forum. Bob do you still have some K'roo knives? Are you selling them?
Good morning,

We are really not supposed to discuss buying, selling or trading on thread. Unfortunately, I cannot send you a pm.
