Out of Africa...K'roo.

That is a beauty Kurt. Love the slanted bolster and the spalted tamarind.👍🏻
He has reminded me several times, he will stand behind his work for the life of each knife.
Thanks Bob. When the first one arrived my friend was here. We don’t talk knives. I knew it was going to arrive and was telling her how lucky she was to be visiting me on new knife day. I opened the package when it arrived and she said the look on my face was so worth her annoyance of me being excited about a knife. Now it’s a good story for her to tell. But it gave me an in to bring up knives when she tells it. I suspect she only tells it now when I’m not around.

Yes Willem stands by his work for sure.

Very sorry to hear
I know how long pkgs. take to get here. I wonder what it's like going the other way?
He actually caught an imperfection on my barlow and worked on it the next day.

I’ll be interested to see this one! What cover/shield combo are you going with?
I believe I said ironwood burl with the swoosh he knows I like...but with my senility, it could be anything. I would like something exotic, but he said the government is cracking down. He would do it but cannot guarantee it will get out of S.Africa.
Jackywax31 has a special one in the works, but not my place to say the design. His is more complicated.

Love it. Glad to see he is willing to work with you guys on some cool new lambsfoot ideas!

I got the original lamb Willem made for me. It’s almost a twin but you can see it has the fluted bolster, short vine file work (weird that it gets thicker near the bolster) and a diamond. Can never have too many lambs lol.

I was thinking that maybe the reason the short vine file work on the spring of this one was maybe for added strength at that section but seeing yours Bob it is consistent all the way. I wonder why mine is not. It goes from thick at the blade to extremely thin at the end.

Love these blue Willem lambs Michael.
Goodness Gracious Bob! Simply divine my friend!
You can add me to the list of happy K’roo owners. This one was delivered to the house today and I couldn’t be happier with it. Thanks a bunch for a phenomenal knife @Kroo Blades !!

Wow! Another fantastic blue Willem!

Here’s the Ettrick. I’ve enjoyed reading everything I could find about this pattern here on the forum. Here’s Willem’s version. 3 3/4 closed. Spalted tamarind covers. I like damasteel and this is their Vinland pattern.

This is not the same knife I posted pictures of earlier. That one arrived not in the same condition it left SA but can be repaired by Willem. He sent another. He’s a good guy and a great artisan cutler. I look forward to more K’roo’s.

Fantastic Kurt! You certainly have some incredible knives my friend.
Willem is playing with his CAD machine for my next one. It is a coffin but with a lambfoot blade.View attachment 2259686
WOW WOW WOW! I love it Bob! And I love the way Willem does his shields. Genius.

Thanks kindly Dwight. It will be interesting to see how they stand the test of time. Will they last like those of old English cutlers, 100 years down the road.?

I really don't see why they wouldn't Bob :) The old guys certainly knew what they were doing, but steels were softer, rust is a consideration, and the knives had to be put together quickly for them to earn their pay

All good points Jack, but as Leon said, I will not be around to find out.😆
