I think of ebony as your knife putting on a tuxedoKind of you to say Michael. I did not have anything close to ebony, so tried this wood.... african blackwood( Dalbergia)
Are you putting the Grim Reaper shield on the coffin? It seems like such a good fit. Thanks Pete....went with original design to keep Willem's signature shape on the blade.
He's still working on the Coffin lamb. It must be a bit of a challenge.
I have asked....may have to remind him.Are you putting the Grim Reaper shield on the coffin? It seems like such a good fit.![]()
Beautiful sleeveboard.( at least it looks like one on my phone). Glad you appreciate his work.
What a stunning knife you have there, Bob!!! Another great example from Willem.African blackwood....( dalbergia)View attachment 2280976

Thanks Jeremy...hard to argueWhat a stunning knife you have there, Bob!!! Another great example from Willem.
On a side note. One of his customers has been " flagged" by customs. He is supposed to get 2 knives with Warthog ivory. Willem knowing customs will keep them for over a month and add fees to them, has to ship them to me first.
Things are getting strange over there. Willem has even suggested I stick with wood or kudu.
Since Willem asked if I would take delivery for the gentleman and send it on, I assume it's here. As I mentioned, it can be held up for a long period and $50+ per knife in fees if it gets through.Hey Bob,
What does this mean? Which country’s customs flagged the customer?
Perhaps because of previous knives having had " controlled " materials his knives are subject to stricter inspection.Sounds like maybe SA customs…
But could be US customs as well. Duties are common for us here in Canada.
Does the “flagged” mean he gets charged duties now? Or he is “flagged” for bringing so many knives in?
This situation has me curious.
The other reason for long delays at customs, especially with “white” bone, is that if there is no cities form (if necessary), then they will hold it until a professional can confirm that it is NOT elephant ivory…which is banned.
This could be the case.
Perhaps because of previous knives having had " controlled " materials his knives are subject to stricter inspection.
Sorry, ignorance is bliss. You’re most likely correct.![]()
I would pass on the letter but has private info.Mystery solved!
