Give it some time to work out guys, Spark will look into it and make what ever changes he deems fair, he always does. Adding fuel doesn't do anything but get more people gigged. As for Rat's gig, take it up with Spark for sure.

VTW, I am hope yours was a mistake. John/Rat...yours is gross abuse of authority! He was out of line and did it intentionally, I hope Spark really looks at what some of his Mods are doing!
 
I was having a good day and then this kind of crap on this forum make me sad......99% of the time it is a great place in most of the forums, but it is the things like this that are just disturbing.

Again, PG is correct for taking the high road - However I just wish other mod types would have as much tact. (heck any tact!!).. rather than attacking people when they make (actually quite clever ) comments.

In the end it would be nice to see some of the controllers say - we are sorry.............:rolleyes:

I got dinged when there was the exchange rule change for a post I made in the Busse Forum.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the content of the post and it certainly wasn't in a place where it would offend people.

I sent Spark a PM asking him to do the right thing, no response.

I was thinking about upgrading my membership, now I can't wait for it to expire and become a user again.

Considering Spark was the one who gigged you, I don't think he was going to change his mind. He doesn't usually make rash decisions, so if he gigged you he meant it. Not trying to make apologies for him, but that is the way I would look at it.
 
Give this time, let Spark come in....he is the ultimate authority...no need to break up the community and get everyone giged over some heated comments.

VTW and John, wait ...no need to fuel the fires.
 
PG you too are a good man and one I do respect - but there are mods than come down hard - over fairly small infractions, and come off like they really enjoy going on the attack. As this is a paid membership forum sould not some consideration be given to "customer service"? A warning is often more corrective than getting your nose rubbed in it.

Granted things did get rapidly out of hand ( from all sides) - but look at the initial mod responces. A measured, tactfull - we will look into it would have gotten us all much farther than the approach taken.

I'm just saying if people are waiting for Spark to fix things, don't get your hopes up.
 
I think the Mods may want to get some legal advice before they start throwing people out of here for what they say. The way that this forum is presented to the public, some of the Mods are treading on a fine line on what is allowed and not allowed with regards to their own rules and guide lines. Too many time the Mods are handing out points on there own opinion. If this was a closed forum the situation would be different. But let’s face it what one group wants is different from what the law may accept. There is language about this.

I’d bet there is a young Bill of Rights Lawyer out there looking for a battle over free speech in a public forum like this.

So in this private forum where there is no bill of rights which pertains to the government. I am supposed to just sit and take in when someone calls me a dingy mod for moving a post where it belongs?

Give me a break.:rolleyes:
 
To be clear about my point. On the welcome page this statement is made;

“Want to Sell Knives? Private Message? Post Polls? Upload Pictures?”

The unless you’re a dealer part that comes later is the violation.


I’m not saying that this forum is; but if it’s a vehicle to attract buyers do business with the company that runs the site. The home page should be more direct and less inviting. The way it sounds now its a come on in and lets all buy, trade, and sell.

It seems that dealers that are not the $800.00 member have to follow a different set of rule.

This is not a hit on Sparks, it’s a check on the Mods.

I would agree that there is no implied or explicit right of speach on a private forum. No case here

However, I am having problems with the dinging of someome for a "2nd" post on the WTS foruns. The rules pertaining to sure posting says:

"Buyers are encouraged to ask questions, however, For Sale threads are not for product discussions. Take it elsewhere. Do not chat up a thread trying to keep it at the top of the exchange area."

Now this is the only rule that even gets close to the subject and does not say anything about it. Implied or otherwise. In fact I am having a problem finding anything on this subject in the rules.

So, please for all our sake, for the sake of non -ambagious, arbitaryily applied rules - please spell it out in the rules and we can go from there. Whether we like the rules or not - it I can read them I can obey them.
