My choice of a field knife would be something along the lines of about a 3-4" blade in a decent steel with a hand-filling handle. I usually pack a saw and rely on an ax for chopping/splitting.

Yeah, but you gotta account for the fact that most people on this forum have dozens of knives and probably switch their EDC more often than their underwearThis is another BF instagram category topic. And, as usual, only a limited number of knives pictured look like they've ever even been used, especially out in the "field".
Good observation. I do use my knives. The knives I pictured- one is well used, but the other is brand new from Mr. Erickson. It’s been on order for months. Don’t you worry….. it will get a lot of attention soon!There are, literally, thousands of knives that will work well out in the "field". Thousands. Any decently made fixed blade knife with good steel and of an appropriate size for the task will work about as well as another designed and made similarly. Same with well designed folder considering their potential limitations. This is another BF instagram category topic.
