Overnighter with the family

What is that small knife? I recognize the Fiddleback, but not the other.

Nobody will tell me about the marshmallows ?
:(

Sorry i though you were kidding. :D

The following is the definition fro wikipedia

The Marshmallow is a confection that, in its modern form, typically consists of sugar or corn syrup, water, gelatin that has been pre-softened in hot water, dextrose, and flavorings, whipped to a spongy consistency. The traditional recipe used an extract from the mucilaginous root of the marshmallow plant, a shrubby herb (Althaea officinalis), instead of gelatin; the mucilage was used to soothe sore throats.[1][2]

Commercial marshmallows are a late-nineteenth-century innovation. Since Doumak's patented extrusion process of 1948, marshmallows are extruded as soft cylinders, cut in sections and rolled in a mix of finely powdered cornstarch and confectioner's sugar (icing sugar). Not all brands coat their marshmallows in confectioner's sugar. Most of the current brands of commercially available marshmallows in the United States and Canada are made and copacked by Kraft Foods and Doumak, Inc, under such names as Jet-Puffed, Campfire, Kidd and numerous "private label" store brands.

Marshmallows are used in S'mores, Mallomars, Peeps and other candy, Rice Krispie treats, ice cream flavors such as Rocky Road, on top of hot chocolate and candied yams, and in several other foodstuffs. Americans eat about 90 million pounds of marshmallows a year.[2]

Very good over a fire - soft and gooey on the inside, crusty/crunchy on the outside!

Thanks guys!

I'm gona search the local stores for that type of candy :)

Now that is how to spend a MONDAY ...awesome pics Bro! Great looking family and campground too...looks like it was quiet there. Gene

Call me an idiot, but what's exactly a marshmallow? Is it some sort of candy? Why you roast them?
I've always wanted to try one...:D

A marshmallow is a small animal, native to north america. They tend to attack in numbers, so the trick is seperating the pack. Very tasty critters.:p

Grat pics Tony...... Looks like a great trip. Thanks for sharing. You have a beautifull family dude, that last pic looks like a jeep ad!

I love the pink tent. You girl is obsessed with pink huh? Every pic I see her in, she is decked out in pink. She needs an Izula!

you should get your daughter one of those pink Crickett single-shot .22 rifles to match her tent!

Great stuff Tony. Like others said before, that last picture says it all. Thanks for posting.

My ol camping buddy always had a pink Tinkerbell toothbrush. He said nobody would ever mistakenly grab his toothbrush. :D

Hey GS, great pictures! I was going to comment on why your tent was smaller than the one shared by your wife and daughter, but as I scrolled down, I see that others had already brought it up.

I, also, use an air mattress any more. I'm old - I want comfort. In case Mrs. GS doesn't already know (about air mattresses) - don't inflate much more than having your hips touch the ground and put a closed foam pad on top of it, or it will be a very cold sleep (convection air flow in the air mattress).

I'm glad to see that it was her idea. You can cultivate this line of thinking by spoiling her, when you're out there - you do the cooking, dishes, etc. :D and thanks for sharing the pictures!

Thanks Doc, For once I thought before just going out. I brought a couple of those foam pads to put on the air mattress. However my wife thought it was dumb. It dropped down to just under 40 and she woke me up in the middle of the night saying her rear was numb from the cold. So I had to got to the jeep and get the other. My daughter and I had no problem though.

Wow what great pics! Tony you`re really blessed to have such a great little famliy. They`re probably pretty lucky to have you too. Nice trip.
