  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Overuse of the Like button.

Maybe I’m just getting old and pedantic, but ........
Why do members go through a thread and hit the Like button on every post .
In my opinion it devalues the whole idea of the “Like” button .
Maybe there should be an “Appreciation and Thanks for Contributing “ button because that is what the “Like” seems to have turned into .

Depends on the thread. In a pic heavy thread when I like the knife and appreciate good photography I must 'reward' the poster as a form of positive feedback. In a discussion thread I 'like' to express my agreement. That's still better than writing a "me too" post.

"Here's a photo of the knife I'm carrying today."

"That's a well composed photo of a very nice knife."..... "Why, thank you very much for that compliment, my good sir, and you, as well, display a most handsome knife on this day."..... "Thank you, my friend."

Like/reciprocal like.

We wouldn't want to be too warm and friendly, right?
"Likes" keep things from getting too... touchy feely.

This is also healthy when dealing with close proximity work place associates.

I can see both sides on the subject. Before the "like" option there were a few complaints that the What Traditional Are You Toting Today thread was too full of the same dozen people complimenting each other back and forth. On the other hand, that's kinda what that thread is for.
Now, someone's complaining about too much like button pushing. It's easy enough to just ignore that if one finds it annoying.
