Oz Machine Company Megathread

When I think about it, the Protean by Prince Customs is that, more than the Rosie.
Yeah…. Had to look it up, but I can see it.

This phrase, “Spyderco Perfected” has garnered my interest!

Appreciate everyone’s comments! 😊

When I hear Spyderco Perfected, I literally think of a Spyderco reblade by Josh at REK. Like a PM2/3 or a Shaman with some sick Aramis scales, aftermarket clip, perfect fit, and one of his amazing blades in S90v and amazing grinds. The OZ Machine knives are pretty alright too though 😊

The Protean doesn't look much like a Spyderco, but it's pretty much only designed to Spydie flick. I couldn't get used to it, and I've never been able to Spydie flick any knife. I did with the Protean... but wasn't able to get the hang of it consistently. Great action on the Protean, too, though.

A few pics of my Angle milled Rosie XL. It’s posted up for sale now, so figured I’d post pics here and contribute a little while it’s in my possession.

The XL next to a couple Shaman’s for size reference.

Next to some others for reference

A tape next to the XL since OZ doesn’t show measurements of the actual full blade length, only up to the choil and is deceiving.

Yep, the XL isn't humongous, and it feels great in the hand

IMG_7025.jpegxl in magmacut. Great knife with good action. Very comfortable. I think it’s a lot of money for what it is but the company does a good job of keeping the numbers in circulation low. Won a lotto for the regular Rosie. Same great fit and finish but I screwed up and got the xl first. Made the regular size seem like a small toy. Ended up moving that one along for cost plus shipping. Even winning the lotto it’s $800. Just sticking with the xl.

I kinda hate BLADE season because all the makers and manufacturers are battening down the hatches in full production mode for the show but also showing off the limited and one-off things they are going to bring to the show I'm... never gonna get to. :/

Looking forward to some more Oz lotteries.
