This. There wasn't one person who said "EFF THAT." and grabbed a chair and broke it over this guy's head? Not one?

No because we are raising sheeple and things like this will continue.

Thoughts?

That we still don't put safety as a priority for our schools. After Sandy Hook, there was dialogue about increasing funding, resources, blah blah blah. Went nowhere. We've removed God from the classroom, and then get suprised when this happens. No more responsibility on the family to raise a healthy functioning individual. Perpetuation of violence inall major media formats with no ability to filter during development. Overmedication of psychotropic drugs.

I'm a liberal democrat, but also a 2nd amendment supporter and knife enthusiast, and I fear the over-reaction from our lawmakers because of this terrible event.

And, I'm sorry Yo Mama, but removing God has nothing to do with it, do you know how many people have been stabbed and shot in the name OF God?

Any murder in the name of God is a perverted interpreting of religion by that individual or group. The Bible clearly stands against murder.

And I'm glad you support the rights of law abiding citizens.

I know this will come as a shock, but there are countless people in this world, and in this country who are raised without God and come out just fine. Not trying to get a religion rumble started, but honestly, "God" doesn't need to be in the classroom, and it has nothing to do with this tragedy.

Don't start a religious argument here. That would be totally ridiculous.

I think people my age and younger literally don't understand mortality. When you don't understand that you can actually end a life, hurting 19 people might seem like nothing.

Once again:

Murrysville police chief Thomas Seefeld confirmed a 16-year-old male student is in custody. He said an assistant principal wrestled the suspect to the ground after he ran through multiple classrooms and hallways brandishing two knives.

So there you have it, someone did do something.
A person responsible for the safety of the students risked his own safety to safeguard theirs.

In all the "why didn't someone do something?" talk, it appears that people don't notice that someone did.

I live on the eastern side of Pa and stabbings are in the news all the time. It is sort of common place in some areas. Just a week or two ago to kids where caught with machetes outside a local high school getting ready for a brawl. The only surprise here is that it was in the school and not out in the streets.

It's terrible that it happened, thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all involved.

What's more terrible is that the anti-freedom types don't wait until the blood is dry and make everyone paranoid that their rights will be taken away. A little hard to mourn victims and examine the cause when the media and politicians use it to campaign.

Right you are. It's a developing story.

The local news just reported that a girl helped stop bleeding on one of the victims and male students fended him away from females.

Taking God out of the classroom has everything to do with it. "God" doesn't necessarily have to be Jesus Christ. (While I think God/Jesus Christ are the same) It's the idea of a benevolent, higher power that symbolizes compassion. When you remove the teachings of Judea Christian philosophy(not religion) and don't hold individuals responsible and accountable for their actions this is the result. It is what our country was founded on. Would you consider the 10 commandments out of line? I don't know anyone that would disagree with the 10 commandments, and yet non-religious people can agree on them. When "God" was taken out of the classroom and the Dept. Of Education took over, it began a slow nose dive. Find a private school where this happens.

I don't recall anyone being shot or killed in the name of God. Allah? Well that is a different story...

Welp, it's disgusting that this thread about a MAJOR TRAGEDY has turned into a religious debate.

Both sides are making hollow claims. Just stop.

This thread is about a mass stabbing in the greater Pittsburgh area.

The crusades were against the Muslims. Yes there have been and always will be Holy/Religious wars. I'm saying that I've never heard of anyone with a vest bomb in a market place yell "oh sweet Jesus" prior to detonating. Most mass shootings/stabbings are carried out by extremist Islamic, atheist, or Marxist/communist individuals.

Wow, you're actually continuing.

I posted right before I read your last post...

You are correct. I was just responding to a comment by an opposing view point. I'm done with the religious talk.
