pacific good survival knife?

the thing I'm not able to understand...some manufacturers do everything in their power to satisfy a customer and others don't care about that.
...and most sane people split the difference. Good lord, give it a rest.

Oh, sorry. I didn't know you were a CRK employee...:D
And I'll give it a rest when I feel for it...which is about now. I've said all I had to say. Nothing more to add, it's cool, bro ;)

But, I'm greatful that freedom of choice still exists

Take care,

No, nobody is threatening anybody here.

Actually, one poster left us with a rant that concluded with his vowing never to buy from CRK again. Not the first time someone has gotten carried away with his own rhetoric online. :)

I imagine CRK does a great deal to satisfy customers as long as it's within his power, for instance, in providing a reasonable number of left-handed framelocks. I bet he'd get more sales out of a wharnecliff folder than a serrationless fixed blade. But there is a limit to what he can do in altering the manufacturing process.

This is not the first time I have been frustrated with CRK. I used to really want a flat grind Sebenza. When they finally produced them I proceeded to place my prder and was told that I could only get one with a scratched on signature! I practically begged (actually I did beg) to get one without this as I planned to use the blade and felt this sig. would only be a dirt trap. Fortunately I was able to get one without the signature and true to my word (as I always am ;) ) I have carried this knife daily ever since, several years now. It has provided me with good service and I am grateful for that. When the GB came out I wanted one w/o the serrations and like now I was told "no". When the Neil Roberts came out and had no serrations I jumped right in and bought one and had a kydex sheath made by Okuden. Problem is I really don't like this knife and never use it. I do however like the Pacific but do not like serrations on any knife. I didn't feel that leaving them off was out of line nor is it causing inconvience to the maker by leaving out a step in the manufacturing process. As stated, all I want is freedom of choice when making a purchase. I want to purchase a knife that I like and feel will give me the service I am seeking for the tasks that I normally use a knife for.

My so called "rhetoric" is not that at all. I am not attempting to convince anyone of anything, I merely stated my intentions. I personally will not support a company who will not support me, thats all. It is a shame too because I always liked many of the CRK knives but this decision was not made based on this one incident as already stated. Also, I have other CRK's (2 other fixed and 1 folder) and with exception to the Neil Roberts I do not plan to get rid of them. I plan to use them as intended when I purchased them. They are good knives and perform well.

??? Leaving off serrations ( that I believe are ground on to the blade by hand, not a step in the auto or cad machining process) cannot possibly compare to a completely redesigned knife, can it? Besides, I was told, if I remember correctly, that this was due to holding true to a project design, not that it was any more or less difficult to produce.

I really don't wish to argue with anyone here. I merely wanted a variation of a knife already being produced by I company who produced other products that I have liked and enjoyed very much over the past several years.

Yes, I really, really like CR knives. Please don't pretend that calling them jerk-offs or threatening to take your wallet and go home is going to convince them to beg you to redesign their lineup.
Yes, I always liked CRK very much too but...well I have already stated my intentions. This is not a "threat" but a promise. And the promise is to take my wallet to another maker or manufacturer, not go home. Oh, I never called anyone a "jerk-off". I use the icon as a way of expressing a feeling of being jerked around or "stroked". Maybe I used it improperly or maybe it was taken the wrong way. If that is the case I appologize.
