Pacific salt "Need personal reviews"

I've said so many great things about the Pacific Salt here on BladeForums that I'm not entirely sure where to start. Many of my personal reviews have been lengthy and time consuming to read, but here is a short summation:

I've had mine for going on three years, still no rust, and no maintenance (besides a few laps on a SharpMaker). I have the serrated-edge, yellow-handled model. I've carried it in my personal floatation device, attached it to my wetsuit, left it in the waistband of my swim trunks, used it on my weekly 8-miles runs at the local reservoir (while carrying it inside the waistband) and have done countless other things with it. It is very utilitarian, beautifully ergonomic as most Spydercos are, and is impressive in its resistance to dulling and corrosion. If you have an opportunity to get one, buy it. It is a superb knife for any application ranging from use close to water to simple EDC.

One of my favorites, right up there with the Military, the Lil' Temperance, the BM/Ritter RSK Mk1, the 710D2, and Sebenza. In my opinion, one of the best production folders of all time.

I`m getting one for christmas, It sound like it`s going to be real reliable.

I've had a yellow, plain edged PacSalt for about 2 months now. I picked it up at about the same time as a PE Endura 4 (first two Spyders I owned in a long time...I lost my Dragonfly somewhere, and gifted a SE E4 to my brother). I didn't like it at first, because it felt different than the familiar E4. Then I started carrying it around after owning it for 2 weeks. I don't think it's left my pocket yet.

I carry it when I run (IWB, since I don't have to worry about sweat affecting it), at work, or when I'm just bumming around. It's a nice, stout blade with absolutely solid lock up and great ergonomics. I haven't had it long enough for it to "work harden", but I"m looking forward to that.

Love em. I live on a lake, love to fish and kayak, and have an odd attraction to being out in the rain. Mine have been great.

If i lived on a lake i would spend a lot of time on it fishing. Pacific salt is going to come in real handy. Thanks for the post.

There great knives, Iv been using one clipped to my wet suit for a while now.
Its spent time in fresh and salt water with no problems at all.
Its got all the good stuff that goes along with all Spydercos with the added bonus of no rust.

Get one

Yeah i have heard several claims that the H1 blade won`t rust. I`m not to familiar with the H1 so i`m not saying that it will rust ,But i don`t think i have ever seen a blade that does not rust.

When i receive my pacific for christmas,It will never leave my side either. Thanks for the post.

I sold my Salt 1, serrated and ordered a P.E. Pacific to carry.
I got the Salt 1 in trade and would rather have the P.E. and I like the bigger size of the Pacific. I've got loads of knives that I won't carry or use, because I just collect them. Figured it was time to get a light weight, full sized Spyderco I will carry and use.
The no worry aspect of the Salt series is very appealing.

Spyderco is about the most ethical company you will find. If they advertise it as rust proof you can take it to the bank. It is a completely different steel than most knives are made of.

Buy one, abuse it, don't clean it. You'll see. :D

The edge retention qualities just get better with use too, as this is a "work hardened" steel.

If only it could be flat ground...

If only it could flat ground...that's the truth!

I'm feeling a sprint run of orange G10 handled, flat ground H1 Pacific Salts or something! :D

I've had a Salt 1 SE for three years now. I work as a landscaper and beat it pretty hard. Cut sod, rope, dig weeds, cut small branches, open bags, cut plastic banding strips. Today a broke up several big blocks of salt with it. Very tough knife. It stays sharp for a long time. Take it to my Sharpmaker about once every 3 months or so.

They are very reputable and ethical no doubt. Thank you.

My Pacific Salt works great. H1 will not rust but it does scratch very easily. The upside is that the scratches buff out very easily. A Dremel with a buffing wheel or some compound and elbow grease makes the blade shiny and new looking.

The Pacific Salt is one of my favourite Spyderco knives. On the beach, on/under the sea, or in the kitchen - it's a great knife.

It will be your first then.

The Pacific is basically and Endura 3 with a rustproof blade and a titanium clip. Chances are good you'll be happy with it.

Since you already know you are getting one, do you know what color it'll be?
