How long have you had yours?Glad to see you got one. I started this thread a while back to show some real-world use on the Salts. I'm still carrying the Pac Salt every day clipped to my FRC's, and the Salt I stays clipped to my backpack. They're still going strong, but they actually look a bit worse now than they did in the pictures.![]()

I agree that everyone should own at least two of them. I also read a post in a thread you started, that someone stated that he had a pacific salt and the knife had some corrosion were the engraving was on the h1 blade. The H1 blade is not supposed to rust.I am baffled. That particular Pac Salt has been with me about a year and a half now. The Salt I is going on about 2.5 years. I still don't have any major issues with blade play, and no corrosion whatsoever.
I spend a lot of time crawling around above where people are working, and it could potentially kill someone if you dropped a knife, so I tend to stick to the Pacific when I'm out in the field. It's a nice handful of knife, and you don't have to worry about fumbling it with gloves on. I tie the 550 cord loop off to a lanyard for extra insurance, but Murphy's Law frequently comes into play so it's better to not drop the thing in the first place. I like the Salt I's blade shape and size for most uses, though. It's more controllable, IMO. These are probably the most-used knives I've ever owned. Everybody should own 1 or 2, I think.![]()
That sounds reasonable. Because i cant imagine these blades rusting at all,Spyderco has a good reputation for having an excellent product.I have not had any problems with any of mine. The corrosion in the logo is just deposits from the engraving tool. The H1 itself is not rusting.
Thank you. I am crazy about this knife,it`s fantastic. It will be my permanent EDC.I'm glad to see you got your PacSalt---enjoy.
I wish I had a quarter for everytime I said that.Thank you. I am crazy about this knife,it`s fantastic. It will be my permanent EDC.

Yeah i thought about buying the military it`s a very nice knife,Maybe i will, and i`ll carry that one too.Amen to that!
The Pacific Salt is a grand knife for many purposes, and is a great EDC!
But believe me, if you get a Military...
You might have found a new "permanent" EDC.![]()
Get the salt you won`t be sorry.I LOVE MY MILI.. havent gotten a Salt yet but the MILI has replaced my Emerson's and benchmades as my EDC
I personally like the PE,But from all the posts i have been reading seems to lean more towards the SE.I have a black-handled Salt 1 PE from when they first came out. It's a great knife.
I'm thinking of possibly getting the Pacific Salt, most likely in SE, hopefully with a yellow handle. Is the SE or PE more popular on the Pacific?
