Padam Suga Knife for 5/29

Do be very much aware and diligent about that edge on the back curve. I'm not accustomed to that and the Ultimate Fighter has nearly gotten me a few times. Thinking you can just grab the back, not a good idea.
I recall I very nearly got bit by the one Auntie showed me at the shack, it was a close thing. Sure was a nice knife.
Hard to tell until you hold one but #8 was my first choice of this batch although on small fractions of an inch and less than an ounce difference between several.
I just know it's gonna be awesome, I can feel it in my cells. I'm trying not to sound anxious. Act natural and all but the truth be told it's been a bit since my last triangle box and I'm beside myself (not sure which side) with anticipation.

I'm not sure if the top edge is actually sharpened. The photos in the other thread kind of made it look like a swedge/false edge.

That's actually kind of my hope really. I couldn't tell for sure no matter how hard I looked. The Ultimate fighter is actually a working edge and very sharp.
Well know for sure soon.

Interesting question. If it has potential for an edge, I would also wonder about the hardening.

Yep if it doesnt have an edge I doubt it would be hardened there but i still wouldnt want to be poked in the gut with it! well...unless maybe they poked and left it there:D

I guess we'll see when they show up:D I'm thinking the clip is a false edge rather than sharpened. I would be fine either way, honestly. I don't have much use for a sharpened clip on that short of a knife. I like a lot more length for a powerful backcut in a fighter. However, it would still give a mean gut shot:eek:

If the clip comes sharp and you don't like it, it should be easy enough to file off the sharp edge, even if it's hardened. You might lose the temper that way, but it wouldn't matter.

This reminds me of waitin on the micros:p Who will get theirs first? Philll Im betting on!

Cul4u01, Let us know what you think of it for kata. I plan to run it through a bunch of different forms as well as testing it out for moderate field work. I think it might be a good combo where it might not have a serious weakness if the balance is what I think it will be.

Bawanna, I shore hope you don't wear the wheels offa your ride from movin' back and forth in anticipation of that shiny little bugger gettin' there in the mail. The excitement hasta be buildin' something dreadful, so I sure hope it gets there pretty quick! I 'spect that when it does finally git there, I'll be able to hear your joyful holler all the way over here to Corn Patch.

Bawanna has already worn tire grooves between his hidie-hole and whatever window overlooks the mailbox I am sure.

Youll probably feel the earth rumble. Thought it was from all the shale fracking in north Texas...Nope it was Bawanna opening that sawed off triangle box:D

Plumb good thing I pulled into the pits last week for new tires on both sides. No match for the ruts I'm wearing in this fake hardwood floor junk my wife made me put down.

First! Just opened it. No time for photos yet.

It's wicked. The top swage is a knife edge. The handle is substantial, and can be used for a couple grip positions.
This one is 11-1/2" OAL, with a 6-1/2" blade, and weighs 12 oz.
Blade thickness (max.) is more than 5/16". (I'd call it 11/32").
Balance point is about at the back of the cho.

Awwww man! How exciting is that? The speed of my pacing has doubled now but the arms are getting tuckered out.

A quick photo to show this bad boy in hand:
