Padre

Dangit
MCracker should have started this thread earlier. I scribed 21sticks today and no 3/32
:)

Didn't see any
1/8
5/32
3/16
Coming soon to a fiddleback Friday near you

Doing stainless padres is not easy because the convex grind is a light pressure grind. The blade is so thin and the grind so high that its just not easy to do. I finish about 1 in 4 Padres. Therefore the demand isn't the problem its the rediculous losses and frustration that is the impediment. If I was to get a disc grinder and start flat grinding them they'd be pretty cake. But we don't have that functionality and don't have room or electricity for it.

I figure a 1/8" toothpick would do as well on my beef jerky and sashimi as this:

As bad ass as the Woodsman is in the kitchen, a 1/8 Toothpick would be fantastic. Would make an awesome, heirloom quality carving knife :)

If I ever snag one I will post the recipe and photo directions for my homemade beef jerky. A recipe I usually do not divulge. ;)

If someone were to send said Padre to me instead, I'd not only hunt down Phillip and get him to divulge his recipe (after I found my way through his defenses, have you seen the Fiddlebacks and guns thread?!?!) but I would also include a case of any of the beer I've posted in the Fiddlebacks on Tap thread.

Ooooooh, looking forward to it!

:D Meh. Ain't Skeered. I bet you wouldn't make it past the taps with the homebrew on the back porch bar. ;)

Be careful. I think my next batch may be a sour, and you won't know which tap it is.

How about a padre y madre set? Now that would be cool!
That would be the "mother" of all sets:)

Andy, how much does a blank cost....I may be willing to pay for all five to get to the good one!!! :) I love my first born, and I need my right arm, but I would give good money for a PADRE!!! :)

Lol
What about the 8 people that work on these things? The steel it's the cheap part

Padre y Madre would be tight. I can already see the sales thread

Padre y Madre set, so beautiful. Shadetree over stainless. If you have to ask how much they are, you can't afford them.

I sense a business opportunity, once the production line is in place and the custom shop is moved to a different location. A line of FFG stainless Fiddlebacks for the kitchen would pay an awful lot of bills. Kids don't get cheaper as they get older. ;) :D

Well we will all have to hold out for the Fiddleback expansion! I'll have patience! Good things are worth waiting for :)
