Well, its about time for me to do some clothes shopping and have been wondering about "tactical pants"... So who should I be looking into? 511? LAPG? Eotac? Or are they all just over hyped? Hell I might just buy some of those Duluth firehose pants. What should I be looking for? Any recommendations? Or if this topic has been beat to death, allow me to apologise for not using the search function(Damn ps3 browser is kinda like pullin teeth). Links are good too. Just wanting a solid answer on whats what. Now I dont go into battle or anything that rough but I do find myself covered in crude oil or grease from time to time. Mechanic/Oilfield type work mostly. Any ideas?

Sig OP... Personally I have no tactics. Well maybe the triple tuckback turnaround tease but thats super secret segway samurai stuff. Just wanting feedback on what alls out there.

I'm a huge fan of the Tac-Lite Pro's from 5.11. I don't need a "tactical" pant, but I do carry stuff on a regular basis and I like my stuff properly organized. I have a good place for my folder, wallet, keys, glasses cloth, PSK and other goodies if I need. They are great in the summer and if you wear them during the winter just put a baselayer on underneath.

God bless,
Adam

Riggs Ripstop Ranger pants. I've been wearing them daily for years now. I also wear them hiking, camping etc. They are very durable, comfortable and have the best pocket configuration I've found. You need to check them out as an option.

 100% I love 'em :D
they are made by Wrangler

I have a closet full of 5.11 pants, but I actually wear the few pairs of Duluth fire hose pants I own. They hold up to much more abuse, have better pockets and quality control, and they'll replace them if you manage to wear them out. I did manage to wear a pair out, but that was after three years of heavy use.

Wearing one brand or another isn't going to imbue you with any level of tactical acumen, but I can tell you that the pockets on the Duluth pants are phenomenal. I regularly load mine down with my knife, keys, wallet, cell phone, flash light, and BUG. As a side note, the belt loops are in precisely the right place for me to index a pistol holster on my strong side hip and keep it secure. By comparison, my pistol slides around between the loops on 5.11's "tactical" pants.

Carhart or Duluth GTG

Amen. Carharts are better than any "tactical" pants out there. To hell with all these so-called tactical pants. I think they were made for anyone who may be leaning towards being gay but scared to admit it. If you have a shaved head, goatee, beer gut, carry an M4 everywhere you go and wear 500 dollar tactical sunglasses...well.....I'm not real sure if you shouldn't be called a tacticsexual and be careful showering with other men. :D

oh no, how did you find out?:D No I agree Carhart is the way to go, I wear them all the time, except on really hot days. When its hot I like the thinner Khul mountain wear pants ..........or the assless chaps:D
