pants suggestions?

Carharts are great options - made for hard use.

I have a couple pairs of 5.11 TacLite Pros that are very comfortable - I love having all the pockets, personally.

I'm not a fan of denim, nor cotton socks, but some swear by them...

For the woods, I tend to wear supplex (summer) or Tru-Spec BDU's (winter, 65/35 poly/cotton) or heavier nylon (winter, extended backpacking). Poncho or rain-pants and long-johns tend to take care of the "residual cotton" in the winter pants.

For everything else, it is pretty much just regular denim jeans. Lee's mostly, if I can get them not-fancy, or Levi's.

I really like the 5.11 TacLite Pro pants. The pocket layout is great and they really seem to hold up.

+1 for the Deluth fire hose pants! Best fitting, best guarantee. If you wear them out, they replace them, period.

Will they stick in a tree if you throw them, and does the warranty cover this?

Go with Carhartt!!! A lot of the clothes they make will out live and last the user. I went through more pairs of cami's in the Corp's than I can count, don't waist your money.

Nothing says badass like The Jordache Look.

Tactical is for dorks and mall Ninjas. Do you lice in your Moms basement?
Get some Mountain Khakis.

Could not agree more with DH about the BlackHawks. I wear these every day and wore them in theater as well. All liquids bead off of them like a duck. I recently got caught up in a great deal of razor wire and the rip stop actually worked better than my Carharts. Pockets are never ending and they keep you nice and dry. Absolutely not as warm as the Carharts though.

I've seen a MAJOR decline in quality of the Carhartt clothing since they moved the manufacturing to the PRC.

I started with 5.11 Tac-Lite Pro's which aren't bad. I got a pair of Tru-Spec 24/7's for free, but I hate the cut (they're very baggy). Upside is they're a very comfy fit. The best pair I have are Vertyx Combat pants. They're competitively priced and alot of thought went into them. As far as knife carry and utility goes, I'd rank the Vertyx first, and the 5.11 second. I can't stand pants that look too tacticool, and the Vertyx have a very low profile. They're perfect if the aim is not to look like a mall ninja/douche-nozzle.

i like the 5.11s, but recently they ain't as good as they used to be, and i've gotten several pairs that were mismarked withthe wrong size.

so try the dang things on before you pull the tags off and wash 'em

I used tactical to describe the style of pants... Hows about cargo pants?
Did someone piss in your cereal or something?

No. It was my cream of wheat.
I'm messing with ya'
I like TADS pants. They have about 5 different variations that are great. Being in the south I like the amphibious cargo pants and the soft cargo pants that go well with the TAD soft Shell or even the Condor soft shell.

wooweee Tads gear is pricey... I think Im going to go for the duluth cargo type work pants.

My favorites danglers den

OK, that commercial is a classic.

Yea, I'm cheap. TAD and Crye are amazing but I'm REALLY hard on clothes. I have jeans that are only about a year old and they have rips, tears and blood stains already. Had they cost me more than $40, I'd "Crye" like a girl. Might be where they got the name.:D
