Para 3 in M4/Jade G-10

My main carry these days is a standard Delica 4 in VG10 with custom scales that are not tapped for a clip. I find that just dropping it in my front pocket with my keys is very much like a traditional slipjoint with the benefit of one hand opening/closing. Ideally I'll be able to do the same with the Para 3 but we will see. I've moved away from clips since all it would take is one scratch in my wife's MB SUV and all hell would break lose :)

Got mine yesterday and polished up an MXG clip I already had to match the rest of the knife. The pivot screws came torqued down pretty hard but the action is perfect after loosening them up a little. After carrying an endura for the past two weeks the Para 3 feels like a toy. :confused::D

Probably going to dye the scales if I can decide on a color. Blue would be too close to the M390 / S110V. Grey is my second choice but then that's the color of the Maxamet. Maybe forest green or something. It would be awesome if AWT made scales for the Para 3. OD or FDE aluminum would be perfect.
 
Mine arrived today and it really is a better blade to handle aspect ratio than the PM2 which I always struggled with. Excellent lock-up and very easy opening with the large spydie-hole. Love the scales also and it was nice and sharp out of the box. The only issue is the clip is pretty much crap. Looks bad and digs into the hand. I'll be looking for an aftermarket clips very soon that will honor the rest of the great design.
 
I freakin' LOVE this thing. I mean, really love it.

Why haven't I handled a PM3 before this? What is wrong with me?

I'm gonna need more versions of this darn knife and I kinda already regret not ordering 2 of this one.
 
I just put in an order for a MXG deep pocket carry clip which will take this knife to the next level! I've already thrown away all the plastic packaging since I have no intention of ever selling this knife!!
 
I can't wait for the coated version that's coming up next. I really love the look of this one but I'm not sure I'm a fan of uncoated M4. Will the DLC coating help slow/stop corrosion from forming or is it mostly for looks?

I’m always impressed by how sharp Spyderco knives come out of the box.
The size was better than I thought it would be, not as nice feeling as My PM2 but still very nice. I also like the look of the scales much better than I thought. I do however have one nit-pick. My hands were a little grimy from work and that grim instantly transferred to the nice white scales.

It made me think it was more suited as a "dressier" knife. I then remembered that I had bought a blue anodized deep carry clip for another knife but had decided not to put it on.

I think it looks good against the Jade scales.
