Here is something completely different from my normal style, but I like the way it turned out. Very comfortable in the hand. I am calling it a utility because that is how i plan to use it.
OAL is about 6 1/2"
Steel is 1080 edge quenched, blasted satin finish with a visible quench line.
para cord wrapped handle (this is my first attempt at wrapping so be easy:o:D)
still need to put an edge on it
Please let me know what you think.

I think it's an interesting looking knife and looks like a good design. I would like to see a version without the cord wrap. I think the wrap job looks good, but I have yet to try one of these so I can't give any constructive feedback. However, from an appearance standpoint I think it would look better without the loop closest to the blade, just wrapped from the finger notch back. Other than that I think it will make a good utility EDC.

I think it is kind neat . But I also wonder about the wrap in front of the finger groove . How are you keeping it from sliding back ?

I like it. I have been wanting to do something like that. I like the Rat Cutlery Izula and want to make something similar in size. Good Job!

I think it looks great! I'm not a paracord handle fan myself (just a personal preference), but it does look good on this knife. Keep up the good work! -Matt-

I didnt think that far ahead. :o
I think I will move it back, let the ricasso show some more too.

Thanks for the comments guys, I cant get any better if I dont know what to fix.

I like it. I do agree that the wrap should move as you stated. That should show the ricasso more so you can put your makers mark on it ;).

I like it; reminds me of my Becker Necker or the RAT Izula Pancho mentioned. Very handy and very popular.

One tip (which you may already know) about cord-wrapping is to soak it in hot water before wrapping. Then keep it as tight as you can while you do the wrap. Sort of like rawhide, it stretches a bit when wet, then tightens up when it dries. I've done a couple 'hawk handles that way and it really helps prevent the wrap getting loose later on.

Thanks for all the comments guys
James, I didnt know about the hot water on the cord.
I like the Izula too, it was a big influence on this one. I usually make mostly hunters so this was a new one for me. Ive had alot of positive response locally as well.

It is also the first knife I have given a name to.
I was listening to Metallica when I was shaping it I called it Battery
"...pounding out aggression, turned into obsession cannot stop the battery":)

Thanks again.
Im off to North Carolina for vacation, and some fishing.

How about a pic with out the cord wrap? I have been wanting to make something like that since my spydies might end up being illegal.

pancho
If you can wait till the weekend ill put them up, right now im at the beach until saturday, getting some much needed fishing in, nothing biting right now but sharks and they aint good eatin'.

Just to let you know this knife works great for what it was intended, ive been using it for everything from cutting bait to rope. Of course now its covered with shrimp and fish guts.:D:thumbup:

What does someone want with a knife if it aint to use it. Make sure to show pics of the fish ya catch. Cause like they say if there are no pics then it didn't happen.:D

I like to see knives that are different. It looks good.. looks like it would be a fine utility carry knife. Definately post pics of the fish if ya catch any!

The hot water does work, i was thinking that it would look good with a JT-Wrap as well.

ok
fish pics will be forthcoming, too bad i didnt get any pics of the monster i caught today:D

Jt
Im going to try a JT wrap on the next one.
