Para2....yes another thread on availability

I've been patient. Beyond patient. 6 months patient. Then I read a post that Para2s were being sold at Blade show. I want to be polite, but it really is lame that they didn't fulfill existing internet orders, and instead brought however many Para2s to sell at the show.

By Friday I'm done waiting. I'm not buying used for anyone who suggests this. If by Friday my order is not fulfilled I'm done. Before you critisize me I am an avid Spyderco fan and have many fantastic blades from them, I recommend them constantly and still would any day, but again I've waited longer and passed up other purchases to get one. If supply was such an issue Blade show should have had 0 Paras.
 
Sorry you haven't found a Paramilitary 2 in 6 months. Honestly, I believe that you should have been able to find one in that time if you've truly been searching. But it's understandable that you can't check sites everyday. I don't see what Blade Show's stock has to do with online orders but I can understand your frustration.
Only suggestion I can give is to stay patient, otherwise there's not much you can do.
They'll be available whenever Spyderco can get caught back up
 
Thanks. I really hated to make this post especially because I love Spyderco so much. I hope I make that clear.

Being that Spyderco fulfills online vendor waiting lists, my point was until these lists are taken care of Blade Show shouldn't have had any in house. I've been on multiple waiting lists for a long time.

Maybe it's my fault, I should have gotten into the game sooner. I didn't have the cash available till recently for the price that Para2s were going for.
 
6 months is a long time and I'm with zl1 on that you should've found one by now. When I got the itch to get one about 2 months ago I just checked the for sale forum frequently for about 5 days and in that time I managed to get a black/satin for $125 and a camo/satin for $135 both NIB. I wouldn't give up hope just yet, just be vigilant.
 
^That's weird, I've never seen production Paras in serrated edge. Plain edge for me. Thanks for the help though.
 
Keep an eye on some vendors FB pages. They announce in advance when they're about to put up a batch of pm2s. That's how I got mine a few days ago.

I don't see the point in complaining, again about the availability. Yes, it's been a while since these things have been seen at online stores in any kind of numbers. So now re resort to a polite tantrums and wildly incorrect assumptions? :thumbdn:

I'm not intending to be rude but, you realize this sounds like what a child that has been disappointed would say."I've been waiting forever, and still nothing. Well guess what, I don't want it anymore!"
It's a knife dude, get a grip. ;)
 
I understand that. It's not my point. If I don't get the knife my life won't be incomplete or anything.

My point, and only point, Spyderco has know about availability being an issue. People have waited in online waiting lists from reputable dealers for a while. It's a smack in the face to everyone who waited to then bring a whole stock of Para2s to Blade.

The proper thing to do would have been to send every last one to the dealers first.
 
Many have been waiting a really long time for the green Para2, and we continue to wait. When I encounter this situation (lack of availability for a production knife I want), I email various stores and ask if they have a list I can be put on to notify me when they are available. Most places don't have an issue doing this, others don't or won't do it at all for you. It's unfair to insinuate that a manufacturer doesn't have the right to take items to the largest industry show though. Just my thoughts on it though.
 
No, they have the right to do anything they want. :) I don't think it would have suprised anyone though if they came with no Para2s and put up a sign saying we are filling all existing orders first, but here are the new designs for you to drool over!

Either way, I'm getting another Spyderco. Without a Para2 in my collection, I'll just get a Matriarch 2 or another Manix 2.
 
Just keep any eye on the exchange here, only advice I can give you. They come up quite frequently for all the threads being made about how impossible they are to find right now.
