Paracord braid?????

I used to work as a framer and all those guys called it a "bitch loop". Never really knew why until my dad was trying to undo one of my extension cords. He had pulled on the wrong end and finally started to untie it one loop at a time, the whole time bitching about why in the world would I tie my extension cord in a big knot. Seemed like an explanation for the name. He still hates it when I tie an extension cord.

Hey Chris (runningboar),

Here's another method - different braid, same result.

It's called the Poser braid. A lot of us tools up here, use it. There's about 25 feet of 550.

I'm packing for a few days of canoeing and I thought I snap a picture. I would have taken a picture of it attached to my pack, but the glare from all the other carabiners would have caused problems for the picture. :o

I'm just packing for a metric weekend (Friday to Wednesday) canoeing. I'll try to get one of my buddies to take some pictures of it while I'm away.

gbuskirk, this is not crocheting. I know because I can. :)

No FLIX, but nice try. :) It's just done with your fingers.

Well, you back now I take it Doc. Any more info on how to do your knot?

I had my wife crochet (sp) some 100' hanks into something that looks like a potholder pad. Works great as you can pull out just what you need.

In the picture above, I took 25 feet of 550, tied the ends together and made 4 equal sized loops and then proceeded as follows (I only used a single loop to make it easier to see).

First of all you make a slip knot. I hope the following pictures make it clear. It's kind of difficult to take the pictures and do the braid. :(

You just continue on. Hopefully this explains it. If not, give me a shout.

Glad to help out, especially another L twin rider.;)

Whatcha got, runningboar?

I have a '95 900SS SP (bought her new 12 years ago), although my avatar photo is a Yamaha FJ600 I used to roadrace in WERA in the '80s, along with an RZ350.

I just got back inside from messing with some waterfowl decoys. I changed the anchor lines. I stored the old stuff in your braid so it wouldn't tangle!

Thanks again,
desmobob

04 SV1000, wanted a duc but couldn't bring myself to pay the price. Right now I am seriously considering selling my Suzuki and building a cafe style bike out of a 70s CB 550. Chris
