Paramilitary2 or military?

I carry a Para2 when at work since it carries more discretely (I have a titanium low rider clip on mine) and is slightly less intimidating when out.

When I don't have to be PC I carry a Military since I appreciate the extra blade length at times. I also prefer the liner lock on the Military over the comp lock on the Para2 (both good though).

Both carry very well and I don't notice any real difference in pocketability (the Millie is longer, but that isn't an issue for me)

I'd say get both, but since the Para2 is out of stock atm get a Military:D

I prefer the para-2 due to the options of having the clip placed on the left hand side and tip-up carry.

It's weird everybody who has talking about the millie said how it was MASSIVE and when I got mine it really did not feel that big. I do have fairly large sized hands I love the millie for this I can hold it in any grip and it is still comfortable. And for it's size I don't really even notice it in jeans.

I got the manix 2 at the moment and while it fits my hand nice I wouldnt want a knife much bigger, also im at school so sheeple friendly knives are important.

I picked up a Police 3 G10 in trade at a gun show over the weekend. Great knife, absolutely no problems with this behemoth in my pants pocket!

Oh yeah, in keeping with the original track of the thread, SAL AND COMPANY, WHAT ABOUT A PARA WITH A LINERLOCK? ;)

Dig both blades....have a pm in digi camo and 2 millies one in orange and one digi. Both are comfy in pocket. I always carry one defensive blade and one utility blade. The millie falls in the defensive category for me...the para would be more inline with my utility set up. Just got a police today in black g10. I like it alot...good defensive reach and thinner blade and profile. Really dissapears in the pocket.

I think i'm going to go with a military. Now the question is which color choices.

Nice. I never had a paramillie but I did have one of the FG D2 millies and felt it really hit the spot for an all-purpose knife. I felt comfortable with it in the yard/classroom/kitchen/office. My residual impression of that knife is "strong and light."

I have heard rumors (couple years old now) of a new version with different lock ("stop lock" i think) and have been waiting patiently for it to be released. I always felt the knife could be improved if the choil was moved back into the handle and the lock did not require putting a finger in the path of the blade. I hope something like that appears in the future version.

I much prefer the Para/Para 2 size for carry. I own a Para 2 and if I didn't like my Sage 1 so much, it would be my primary EDC. As for quick handling, I'm much better at it with a liner lock. The comp lock takes some getting use to and it was never as quick to close and put away like the liner lock.

So for me, Para 2 is better carry option due to size and shape. But I can't manipulate it as well as the Millie. Between the two, I would go with Para 2.

i often carry a para (PE digicamo) and im very satisfied with it. the comp lock was a selling point for me. im always looking for new knives of different styles and this one just works! it fits in my M size hands nicely and has plenty of blade to work with.

ive handled the millie at the knife shop, i liked it, but for some reason i favored the para better.

I wasn't a fan of the paramilitary, but the new version looks like an improvement. I like the bigger screws, the pivot bushing, that monster lanyard hole, and the size changes. Still was going to pass, but when they came out with the S90V Carbon Fiber version I figured it was worth a shot. Signed up for one today.

Same here. I've never been a big fan of the military and the paramilitary 1 looked a bit odd to me, but I think the paramilitary 2 will be my next spyderco.

Unless they bring out a manix-2 with orange G10 sometime soon. :D

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the first Para either, but the Para2 rocks

And yes, the pivot bushing is nice

I went with the Para2. Two of them actually(pre-order for the S90V and CTS-20CP models).

Why?

I couldn't think of a reason why I would want another big and bulky knife when I already EDC a ZT 0301 and have a ZT 0551 in pre-order as well. I also dig the subtle improvements(bigger lanyard hole, longer tip).

Where did you pre-order those two models from?
