Pasadena Knife Expo show review

Thanks for the Write up Steven. Very good! Brian Fellhoelter did very well. His new folder was a great hit, and won an award. Sorry I don't know which award. They were disappointed that Manuela ( my wife) didn't come to the show with me. We have a great time at shows together. The two day visit at the Loveless shop was a great success. I delivered Bob and Jim's Jr Bears, and Spent some time grinding while there. I wanted to get a feel for the grinders they use. Sweet!!! That, and I had never ground blades while seated. I wasn't sure I could do it. Man! I didn't know what I was missing. It's lid driving a new Caddy, instead of a old truck! Mikey likes it!!! Had a good time walking with you, and I'm glad we finally met. It's about time. As far as how the show was, I on the other hand heard many maker say they were shocked at the huge crowd, and many did very well indeed. I think that I took about a half years worth of orders in th first 2 hours Sat. Un-real. ( I missed Fri., Got held up in Dallas). All in all. A great Week In Cali. I just got back a couple of hours ago. A long Week! Thanks againSteven, and I enjoyed meeting you face to face. . Mike

Mike, this one, which I think you are referring to, got me the award for Technical Innovation.

I guess no one has ever seen a bolstered framelock before!
This knife is not the knife you expect it to be when all you see is this picture.

This one here won me the Best New Maker award.

It was a great weekend for me....

Both pics are links to larger pics.

I went to this show a long time ago and sadly have not had a chance to go back. The time I did go, I picked up one of my first custom knives - a really nice fighter by Ron Gaston.

Even though I wasn't there, something that came out of my head was there.

I don't know if anyone noticed the winner of the award for Best Fantasy Knife. It's called "Thor's Inspiration" and the design is heavily based on a design that I created last year. :D

When I heard that it won an award I was very proud  .

Hi Thor! Brian, Mikey Likes It!!! Manuela says Hi to the both of you. Mike and Manuela

That was a nice write-up Steve, I could almost hear the sounds and smell the smells...

This was the first time we missed the KnifeExpo show in the last six or seven years, but now that we've moved to Montana, I just sat and watched the snow fall instead...couldn't see digging us out; in retrospect, wish I had... ;)
