I am trying to figure out what filework I should try on it...

Who do I send it to when its finished???

Alan...

At last it has been found! I have been wondering about it for weeks. We need to try and keep people informed here. There are alot of people involved and are watching for it to be done so they can buy tickets. It was hoped that it would be done for Christmas. Isnt the money to help keep the forums going? I dont want to be the complainer but I guess I am. Bruce Bump

"Oh yea".... "Sorry for the late reply, I am only 50 or so e-mails behind now........"

This is no excuse!!!
This is much more than late!
You should have let us known something before now!
There were people depending on you!
There were other people who would have done the work!
I would not buy a knife from you!
You have demotivated this project!
Because of you, my wife and I are withdrawing our offer to do the scrimshaw!
At least I am letting everybody know now and not waited until I got it!

Easy, big fella! I too have been following the progress of this knife with some interest (as a consumer, not a maker), and it looks like a problem in communication happened. That's life. I understand it can be frustrating, but there's no need to be impolite or insulting. And let's face it, on a first-time, cooperative project, involving so many people, it's no surprise these things happen.

I'd say since the pass around knife was started as a fun idea, and Rob's computer crashed which put a lot of his bussiness behind, its pretty understandable that the other stuff came first.
could someone try and post a pic of the knife after file work and everything is done. I think it'd be neat to have some pictures of the knife in progress. The last one I saw was after it was ground out. That looked great.

Fix it right the first time, use Baling Wire !

Sorry I blew up!

I never got the knife till mid December or so, and if you do a search this was discussed at that time. Sorry you feel he way you do.

Wow Rgray, I sure hope you're kiddin!!!! Theres not a knife on the planet thats worth one bad feeling among the Forumites!!
Also, this project comes secondary to the folks who are donating their time and talents. Their regular daily business comes first. Rob is an outstanding knifemaker and heat treater, and I'm sure he got the blade done and out as fast as he could. I hope this doesn't turn into a bad project!!
Rob, In my opinion, you owe no one an appology here!

Rob, if you didn't have the time why did you volunteer?

There where others interseted in doing the work!

You had the knife for at least a Month, why didn't you tell Michael where it was?
And then you say "Oh Yea"

Michael, you are just too nice,
Tell me where I'm wrong!

You thought if fell in a black hole!
I am just really upset about this!

I think we can still finish this knife. It started out great and we were all excited about it. The real problem I see is lack of communication. If there is a hold up of some kind I think we should post it here. I think we all tune in about every day and this shouldnt have happened. It probally wont happen again. But lets just keep going on it. L6 is right it shouldnt cause anger between us. Im sorry I was the first complainer but I was moaning because nobody answered any of the posts asking for progress reports. I heard rumors of the forum closing so maybe we are too late anyway. Does any one have info about this closure? L6 may have to finish the project by email to us on his list of volunteers. The money could go to another good cause. I Love You Guys, Bruce

Senator, What does class have to do with it?
Where am I wrong?
We thought it was stolen!
How long should it take!

I was under the impression that this was a "fun" knife! In earlier e-mail with Michael he said it would be comming and to work it in if I remember correctly. So oh yea, I worked it in.

Michael, you are right I owe no appology.

RGRAY, Dont know why you are so bent out of shape, and at this point dont care. This is my last post in this thread as I am wasting my time with this post.

I have gone over all of the previous posts on this. Rob you said you got it 12/16 and where going to "burn it 12/17. This was last we heard from you. That is over a month ago without letting anyone know where it was.
I think you owe an apology.
I don't think it's "fun" holding others up.

Senator, I see this is your first responses
to this and just take it as your 2 cents. I do not appreciate being paraphased.
You didn't tell me where I was wrong. I don't know why you got involved at all.

This is my last response.
If you don't understand, I can't explain it.

Hi guys,
This was intended to be a fun knife. Each maker that got the knife was to have "fun" with it and see where the blade took them.
Each maker volunteered to contribute time, materials and skills to this knife. It isn't an ordered piece, so has no set timetable or due date. Making a living takes priority over fun for most knife makers unfortunatly.
I truly expected hang up like this. Computers crash, family problems arise, shipping companies "misroute"/lose packages ect, ect..

RGray, sorry it wasn't happening as you wished.

L-6, Perhaps AJohansson would like to step up to the plate, so to speak. He showed interest in the knife earlier.I remember going to their site where he did the knives and she did the scrim. Very nice work. They are base in Vasteras, Swedenhttp://www.scrimart.u.se is the site.
Keep the knife going guys!!

I thought this was a fun, collaborative effort between a group of fellow knifemakers and fellow forumites. Don't remember seeing a time schedule printed anywhere. Let us not forget our common goal. THE PERFECT KNIFE. Can't we all just get along? On a serious note it would be nice if everyone looked on this project as just that. A way to have fun and input into a rather unique knife. Sorry for putting in more than my .02 worth.

Marcel

Ok...
I believe it goes to me next, let me know if I'm wrong on that, ok L6?
I'll go ahead and give a heads up right now, I'm going to do it right, so I won't be rushing. I'm not good enough to rush and still put out a product that's up to my standards to leave my shop.
But I'm still going to have fun with it, and I look forward to getting it.
Can we get someone to take pics of someone doing that cool coke-can chopping test with it?
