Pass around knife????

Rgray, I agree my remark about the blade being sucked into a black hole was uncalled for or poorly worded. I tend towards saying things with the wrong words sometimes.
I hope you and Bobbie will change your minds. If not, I understand and wish you both nothing but the best that life has to offer!!
Oz, you should be next in line to get it. You might want to email Allen to let him know.
I hope we can all live up to HooDoo's post from the original Pass Around thread!
Take care!! Michael

I hate to interrupt working people here but I just wanted to say that you guys are a class act. This is a wonderful idea and to see so many talented people jump on it and work together like this is impressive. I'd love to see the results written up in a magazine. Everyone of you deserve some glory on this one.

I think it goes back to the Jones brothers for regrind and satin finish after me...

As far as timeframes and such, I dont think there is any reason to rush this. it should be a fun project, so lets all just get it done when it gets done and do the best we can at it to get the best product for the lucky schmuk who gets it in the end, right??

It's just a knife and there is no pay involved for the knifemakers who offered to work on it. What's the big deal if it takes a little longer? A knife being made to bring some money in for a maker would take priority over a knife being made for fun. There were the holidays and various other things that might have arisen to put a maker behind. Not everything in life goes as we want it to. For example, I still haven't won the lottery. Come on everyone, lets just settle down and get along with each other. We don't need any hard feelings on this forum.

Hey, I just had a thought!!! Would it be ethical if the folks workin on it bought some of the raffle tickets too????

The bladeforums are not quitting like I heard earlier. The World of Weapons is going out of business.Yes L6 I want to buy a ticket for the passaround bowie. Its ethical if done right, like maybe someone from Blade Magazine could draw the winner? Bruce

We could send it to Sweden when Jens is done with the sheath. That would be the fastest way. It takes a few days From Denmark to Sweden insted of weeks from the US, and one trip to Europe should be enough.

Hey guys,

It may be a good idea as steps are complete for the craftsman to post the results and where it is going from there. It will keep everyone updated and generate excitement. As many as possible should take a picture to post of their work on the knife. Each craftsman should take the time he/she needs to do the job right, unrushed. If it takes longer than expected just post it here. I don't think anyone should be upset for the time it takes as long as we all know where it is. Don't put yourself on the spot by putting a shipping time on it, unless you just want to give an approximate time for shipping on to the next craftsman. By doing this excitement will grow as completion nears.

My opinion is that if someone could take a picture of it soon, no reason Mr. Turber couldn't start selling tickets now. He may want to keep the cash in escrow in case something unforseen happens to the knife. Even if it takes 6 months to complete why not start selling tickets now. Make sure there is a cut off date after the knife is complete.

Hey L6,
Go ahead and buy all the tickets you want. I don't see any reason why you couldn't. Mike is going to be in charge of the raffle right? Even if he isn't I trust everyone here.
