That's great! Is there a stamp on the steel? DM
They both have the same stamp.I hate opening the NIB Steelmaster.I have to put on a glove so my fingernail doesn't scratch the leather when undoing the snap.LOL

Sporting, Great! Thanks. That's the same stamp mine has. Could you leave the NIB md. 137 unsnapped, so you don't have to put on a glove.?
Just for a few days while we're talking about it. That English script stamp was used on several models Buck came out with. i.e. the 500's, the Empress Trio set md. 200, the 700 series, the Windsor set md. 203, maybe more.? DM

So English scripted Steelmaster is the newer version or the first version? A little more clarification please. Also wedge was earlier version then omitted later or other way around? Thanks.
Ok went back and reread DM’s post. Think i got it all except the wedge part. Did they discontinue the wedge on later models or add it on later models or do they all have the wedge?

This is quite interesting - I never understood the function of the Buck 137 - just an odd way of packaging a blade sharpener. OH

Yes i think you’re right. My thought is how do you carry it. I mean Buck 110 (or other Buck of your choice) on your right/left hip and 137 sharpener on the opposite or same side?

Ok, all model 137's should have a wedge on one end. I heard the first ones didn't have it. But all the ones I have held or seen had that feature.

Yea i posted that and guess my brain was in the middle of a fart! And i will check out that case. Not really up on the slip joints so that should be fun. The 303 is a 1992. In the shape its in may not be worth the price tag

David, Mighty rich price for such a well used pocketknife (the 303) - if the snap is still good and I really wanted it I'd offer $15.00 for that one. I routinely offer 50% of what a pawnshop tags an item for (they paid about 20% of what they have it tagged for) - I've found a 50% offer gets accepted about half the time. I'm always willing to walk away from a knife deal if it doesn't suit me (already got hundreds as it is!) OH

Thank you for those words of wisdom. I will certainly try that out if not on that knife another one.

I ask because i took some pictures of a Case knife display case at my home town hardware store.
I know nothing about Case knives and when you mentioned them in #33 on this thread it got a different gear turning in my head. Need to know where to go to learn.
