Pay it forward 2010

Ok, I got one of these 3 led drop ins from Nite Ize for a AA maglite. It is the 3 led drop in and the reflector. It is not nearly as bright as their single led drop in but if you just need a long lasting emergency light that won't eat your batteries up then this freebee is the way to go.

Sent it on the third, First class mail.....wtf? Wonder if it got lost?

Anyways, I have quite a few Farmers so if it doesnt get to ya soon, Ill drop another one out to ya.

Captain Spaulding,

I'd love to give the led conversion for the mini maglite a try.

Just PM me if you've still got it.

Thanks,

Brandon

Too much trouble to pay it forward? Or are you people just too cheap. Why was the first thread so successful?

Why am I even surprised. It's mankind after all.

Perhaps you should smoke a joint and relax. This is voluntary. Why are you so cranky?

People are just too cheap. But like I said, I'm not surprised by now.

I'm gonna take your advice...Off to the shop :D

OR, you have a tendency to bitch about people not giving stuff away.

People aren't necessarily cheap...maybe they don't have something to give right now...maybe the economy is shite and they can't...or maybe...since this isn't mandatory..you should grab a box of kleenex and a cup of chamomile and watch some Oprah.

Now who's cranky?

As per the rules (see third post in this topic), you are morally obligated to pay it forward. I just don't like it when I see people taking every opportunity at a knife, while ignoring the rules (moral rules or not).

Besides, I got to the shop just before closing time. I'm going to have a great night.

Get over it...this thread doesn't need a hall monitor.

There is no time frame and if you need to be a stickler and get cranky in every post (most of your posts in this thread are whining about others) perhaps you should not contribute...it is not about the getting so much as the giving.

I am hardly cranky...more pointing out that the hall monitor role is not necessary.

You may have missed it, but I already did my share. Just FYI.

I have absolutely no intention of whining about people. I'm only encouraging a little generosity from time to time.

You have to agree though, some of these people are vultures. The guy I sent my knife to, has never replied nor acknowledged that he received it. That has to be more than just not being able to pay it forward.
Still, he has the benefit of the doubt, like all others. We'll let time be the judge then.

No, I didn't miss it.
I don't care about credit.
As soon as I ship something out it is no longer mine nor is it my concern.
If you are doing this as a quid pro quo then you are missing the point.

I don't agree that these people are vultures...you can't get bent when people say yes to your, or someone elses offer of free gear.

Maybe it's just me but I think you should have to pay to ship it if you put it up...just my opinion...free should be just that...again just one guys opinion. I think truly free fits the spirit of the thread more adequately.

Yes, I am pretty sure I mentioned that when I started the original thread.

Get over it...this thread doesn't need a hall monitor.

This is also most certainly true.

Perhaps you should try doing it in a less whiny, and judgmental, manner.

Exactly...there is no obligation to put gear up. That is all on the recipient. If they don't want to, it is on them. The end

Come on, I DID pay for shipping.

And may I just quote yourself?

the recipient is required to post something they are willing to lose as well so that, in the end, we all have received something

I thought you wanted it that way. Two weeks without replies? That's not much in the spirit of what you wanted, is it? So I gave a friendly bump at first. You have no idea how annoying it is when people don't listen.
The guy I sent my knife didn't even thank me! I don't WANT another knife (I never considered this a trade), but the LEAST I can get is a thank you. That's all I want.

Sigh. I'm gonna get back on my 4th blunt.
