Pay it forward 2010

Come on, I DID pay for shipping.

And may I just quote yourself?

I thought you wanted it that way. Two weeks without replies? That's not much in the spirit of what you wanted, is it? So I gave a friendly bump at first. You have no idea how annoying it is when people don't listen.
The guy I sent my knife didn't even thank me! I don't WANT another knife (I never considered this a trade), but the LEAST I can get is a thank you. That's all I want.

Sigh. I'm gonna get back on my 4th blunt.

The fact that you want/expect anything at all in return, no matter how small, shows how you lack the understanding of the point of this thread. It also illustrates how the concept in general of "pay it forward" seems to escape you.

Then I'd be happy to listen. Please, enlighten me. But don't you agree a thank you is reasonable to expect?

As soon as I mail it, it is over for me. My ONLY concern is that the other party has received it in the same condition in which I sent it. I hope for thanks but I EXPECT nothing. An individual committing an altruistic action, by definition, does not require , nor expect, reciprocity from the recipient, let alone lecture or bitch when their expectations of gratitude are not met.

Just sayin.

Okay, then please rephrase your original rules.

Let's leave it at this and see how altruistic bladeforums is.

Jesus H. Christ on a Crutch!! SHUT UP ABOUT IT!!! Obviously, there is no way to force someone to post something, regardless of how much they may receive. So...drop it and stop derailing the damn thread. If it is that big of an issue for you, do us all a favor and stop posting in the thread. As Spaulding said, once it's out of your hands, it's done. If somebody doesn't want to reciprocate, find your relief in karma...

I am really bummed. I thought I was paying it forward by showing him the error of his ways. :(

I am still waiting for my "Thank you" and some advice to balance out the trade. :D I didn't even charge shipping or a handling fee.

I had thought that this was clear (crystal actually to me:cool:):

Here's the deal: we all have some piece of gear that we don't use or have duplicates of or something that someone else could put to much greater use than our closets, drawers, etc are doing. What you do is post something you have and don't want and give someone else the opportunity to take it off your hands. now...since you will be paying the shipping for your item, the recipient is required to post something they are willing to lose as well so that, in the end, we all have received something, if desired, for our item. It is not a thread to barter or trade or sell in."

from the Wiki:
"The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead. In contract law, typically there are two parties but there is the concept of third party beneficiaries."

"In the order of nature we cannot render benefits to those from whom we receive them, or only seldom. But the benefit we receive must be rendered again, line for line, deed for deed, cent for cent, to somebody." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'll offer up a used Mossy Oak Raintamer Jacket, size large, in Mossy Oak's Break-up camo. The "Raintamer" fabric is waterproof breathable (similar to Cabelas Dry Plus) and the jacket has a removable hood and and elastic waist and wrist cuffs.

This jacket has been worn by me, but there is alot of life left in it. I just got a new hunting jacket for Christmas and I don't need this one anymore.

If anyone is interested you can contact me on the forums, or email me at bkduckworth at hotmail.com.

Ill take that jacket off your hands Brandon. Ill send you a email right now.

I would like to see a picture if you have one.

I have several lights up for grabs. There are some Dorcy's and a few Garrity's, as well as an Inova. I'll get model numbers and photos up when I get home.

Sorry guys, I don't have any pics of the jacket, and I didn't have a chance to take any last night. I'll be sending it to Blood_Grooves tomorrow though.

Have a good one guys!
