OK folks, this is real simple, we all have something we can give that will make someone else feel good, and what we get in return is feeling good as well. The spreading of kharma goes a long way, so here are the simple rules:

1. Open to anyone, and anything can be given. Remember, whatever you give will be your responsibility to work out the logistics of shipping. With this in mind, re-think offering a complete set of brand new Old Man Emu shocks for the Jeep JK, which weighs about 80 lbs. The giver should pay for the shipping.

2. Try to give something new, but gently used is fine.

3. Since this is a Becker forum, it would be best if the item offered is Becker related. The MOD's may waive this rule in the spirit of holiday giving.

4. The first "I'll take it" gets the item, and it's up to the recipient to provide name and address; as stated, the giver pays for shipping.

5. Remember, if you take a gift, it is expected that you offer up a gift as well.

6. Please keep gift values reasonable...it's the thought that really counts.

Anyway, I'll start with a couple of simple items that are up for grabs...

Both items are brand new and never used....

Merry XMAS, Feliz Navidad, Happy Chanukah, С Рождеством, Frohe Weihnachten, Joyeux Noël, 聖誕節快樂, Maligayang Pasko :)

Glad to see the PIF trying to start up in Becker; Been a part of the general PIF since the 1st thread, kinda all "itemed out" but glad to see the spirit going in one of the forums I call home.

Anyone need any scales---I have hunter green scales for a large Becker (spray painted with Krylon Fusion), peanut butter scales for a tweener and orange zytel for a 14/24----I also have this older Ka-Bar lockback--this is what tooj told me about it--Model #2792. Made in the late 1970s-early 1980s. KA-BAR had shut down it's Olean, NY plant and had moved it's HQ to Cleveland, OH. They were part of Cole/ACP. Most of the knives during this time frame were made overseas. The exceptions were the USMC F/U knife and some traditional folding hunters and trappers which were made at the ALCAS factory.--its not a great knife but it wouldnt be bad--just needs cleaned up--its stout and a little heavy (considering its size)

Good thread. I know I got some stuff around here somewhere I could stand to give away. Just ain't got time to dig it out right now.

I'll find something....just give me a day or two. Good idea to have one of our own here on the sub-forum, tho. I did just traded a bunch of stuff to WW....that counts a little, I hope. I'll do a little digging. I'm sure I have something somebody might want.

I'll claim that manix , granite. I've always wanted to try out a spyderco:D
I'll send it right out. You should see it by......

never. (as if...)

and...I think this thread should stay focused on actual PIF stuff. I don't mind a little kidding around, but....we should respect the OP's intent.

see post#3- I've earned a joke:D
I guess you have. So now I will earn mine retroactively.
Up for PIF are three, yes three snag-less, snag-free, snag-resistant lanyards, made by me. The idea of using these is shown in the last pic; pull the sliding knot from it's "snag-free" position near the attachment loop towards the two ends. Insert hand thru just formed loop. Pull either end knot and the sliding knot will cinch up around your wrist. To release, just pull the short tag end and the knot slides back, allowing hand to be removed. Returning sliding knot to the attachment loop re-engages snag-free mode, ensuring that low flying tree branches or moose antlers won't hook your lanyard and yank your knife out of it's sheath. We've all had it happen.

I would like to give these away separately. First time stamped post gets to choose the color of their choice: safety orange, some sort of zombie yellow pattern and reflective yellow (reflective tracer threads in the cord). Second post gets choice of remaining colors. Third post gets a lanyard, same as the others. After posting please pm or email me with your address and color choice, if you had one. I'll choose if you don't, then get them in the mail.
These work GREAT with any of the full size Beckers.

PICS!!!

Please claim these even if you believe you have nothing to give yourself. I would like for someone else to have them, regardless. There are other ways to pay it forward...and sometimes the thing you might have to give isn't a thing; maybe it's your time. Maybe help out an elderly neighbor with a ride or a meal, serve at the community kitchen.....the list is endless. Like the OP said:

If youre only after the 14 scales may I pick out the standard large Becker scales then?

I'm seriously considering selling my 2 Beckers and buying a BK12; that's if I can find a market for them

And I'll be wanting to replace the 12 scales with better shaped kabar scales as I know its going to be too fat for my hand

That's the spirit; no Grinch in you.

OK, here's another NIB freebie for that Boy Scout in your life; 5.11 2013 Collector folder. Tell me you know a Cub Scout or a Boy Scout who would appreciate this gift, and it's yours.

Like my Mother used to say, if you aren't or can't use it, then give it to someone who can.

GSOM - I tried and failed to make something like this for my swimming/watersports knife. I would up integrating a spring-loaded plastic cable lock thingy, which works but was never ideal.
If it's still available, and you really want someone else to have it, I'll take the yellow (reflective, not zombie) one.
I'll see if I can't find something to give away...
