Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

Wow, those are two great offerings A-love! I have both and they are each excellent examples of what GEC can do!

I'll take the 15 if you don't mind! I've been trying to get into traditionals but just don't know where to start. I can't pm though, could you email me at jday2727 at gmail dot com? Thanks!

You picked a great one to get started. Those sheepsfoot 15s are so useful and just about the perfect size. They disappear in the pocket, yet they are big enough to feel secure in use.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to the blade shape, I think it'll be a great box opener!

Hey Erik, yes they are great knives.. but they never get the pocket time they deserve anymore.. so hopefully someone else will use them and enjoy them..

Awesome thread.. I've got a few traditional knives that I'll post up.. a GEC 15, and a GEC OD green micarta Bullnose.. both have seen use but are awesome blades.. PM or email me.. I'm not home at the moment but I'll see if I can get a few pics from my phone.. EDIT: , found this pic.. it's the knife on the bottom and the second one from the top..

Hey. A-Love. If the micarta Bullnose is available I would love it. And if so I have case xx trapper I will put up .thanks

Never mind, I realize it's been claimed.

Gasman, it is, and thanks for throwing something into the mix.. shoot me an email.. Adam(dot)Lovelette (at) Gmail.com

GasMan, if that trapper is a large I'd love to give it a try. I've got a Buck Vantage I'll throw into the mix. It's the Hornady edition with the black DLC blade and steel back spacer.

BearMGChafter if you end up adding that Buck Vantage to mix I'd absolutely love to try that one. I've been wanting to see the look and feel of them and that edition in particular for months now. I can't PM for some reason so if you could either give me your email or email me at smilk327(at)gmail(dot)com once it's officially up I'd greatly appreciate it.

IIRC, SurfingGringo started a thread very much like this one just a week or so ago. Let us give him some credit also.

Yes, it's a great idea. Just be careful what you say you will do...I took it in the ear some time ago and got called some pretty nasty names by folks who figured that I was a wealthy, lying, grand-stander...
So I'm more careful now about what I post...but I still do what I do...and to hell with the naysayers...

It needs a good sharpening but otherwise it's A OK.

AND it's blue! Perfect! Thank you sir.

Nice, looks a lot like the blue used in the Ford series.
They just came out with a neon green version of their trapper with stonewashed carbon blades which looks awesome.

Hey NY, that Boker looks awfully familiar. Is that the one I paid forward, those many years ago? Regardless, I think it's great you're starting the tradition up again. I was thinking about that not too long ago. I'd gladly take part, but where are we?

Hey buddy, it sure is! Albeit now more used and loved :)

I actually had no idea this started back up, it sort of flopped when I first posted it. Thanks Rugg.

Just as a friendly reminder to everyone involved, the point of this is to enjoy whatever you claim, definitely not to sell it for a quick profit.

Keep on keeping on, gents.

That is the most ridiculous shit I've heard in a long time Don. Don't let it in.

I get the warm and fuzzies, not a common occurrence, whenever I visit this thread! If you're thinking of getting involved, take it from me, the feeling is priceless!!

Wow, the generosity around here is astounding sometimes!
I can't believe some of the knives being freely given away and it makes me happy to be a paying member to help support this type of community.
Now I just need to hope someone else has some more unloved GECs laying around since I sure can't afford one any other way :foot:
