Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

I was trying to find out what steel they used in that knife, Neko.
It is a nice piece, and the company is still in operation. They run their kitchen knives in the 59-61hrc range, and use a carbon, molybdenum, vanadium alloy.

Sounds like it will take a Nice edge and hold it well, especially if the Mo and Vn were used for carbide formation.

MAC knife may be claimed. Someone saw me listing it and is asking me to hold it for them.
I'll update if it's unclaimed after the weekend.

I did find out that it's made from the same steel as the current line of MAC kitchen knives at the same hardness (called MAC - that's when I was asked to hold it).

I'll try to find another knife to offer up to ease the knife tease.

That really is one of the nicest knives to have been offered up👍
Weather or not it's already been claimed I hope it goes to a good home ( I really wish it could be me, but I've already claimed a knife for myself ) am I mistaken or is that a left handed sheath ?

Tanto arrived today! She's seems to be in good spirits and adjusting well thus far. Decided to sprawl out on the couch for a rest after her long journey. She's quite the looker. Her silver thumbstud contrasts her black blade beautifully. I think we'll get along just fine.

Use it like you stole it!!!

So, I take you are happy with the knife?

You know, out of all the Kershaw Zings I have handled, this one seems to have the best action. I wish the others in my collection were like this.

One of my coworkers just ordered a stainless SpeedSafe model. Everything that made the early Zings special is gone. It is really sad when a nice blade is ruined by the suits in marketing.
To top that off, prices on some of the early zings have just gotten ridiculous. I recently saw an orange zing sell on eBay for $174.01. Crazy!

eBay item number: 191872361541 - I don't think we are supposed to give ebay links but this one ended back in May.

I am very pleased. Thanks again, friend! The USA tanto Zing was one of three USA made Kershaws that I attribute my really getting into knives. The others being a tanto Blur and a Talon II. So this model holds a bit of sentimental value. The fact that its a rare black blade is just an awesome bonus. I dont see this one going anywhere.

Been watching this thread since day one, hoping to join in, and finally got the chance to dig up a few things to share.

WOW!! So many knives! I've been eyeing the Kershaw tanto blur for a while now, and it looks absolutely amazing. Is there any chance I could claim this for myself. It will be my new EDC and will give my sister who's going off to college the Rat 1 I'm carrying currently. I've offered several times in this post, and will be likely offering a pair of binoculars in the future, but if you would rather give it to someone else I understand. Thanks!!

I think I would like to give the 1095 a go, if it is alright. I will be sure to dig something back up to keep things moving!
It would be a great edition to my edc rotation and my Civil War Reenacting kit, I think

It's all your! You should be able to email me through the link under my profile name, and we'll work out the shipping details. I'm about to run out, but I'll be back on later tonight.

Thanks Elgin, just sent the email through BF. Just warning it shows up in spam sometimes!

The Harpy arrived today. When I opened the box I was already like a kid at Christmas but look what I found. Gonebad added a twitch 2. Thank you. With all the bad and negativity in the world Its great to see the generosity demonstrated here in this little corner of the interwebs.
