Alright here's a an odd one but I'm a professional artist and I often do Portfolio Reviews for one of the top art schools in the country in NYC (not bragging). If anyone here is thinking of going to art school or has a child in High School who is getting ready to apply to art schools I would like to PIF a review of their portfolio. I'll give constructive comments and feedback and advice on how to make their portfolio stronger and better geared to get into the art school of their choice. Email me if you're interested or have a kid who might be interested and we can arrange for you to send me pics of their work.

Alternately if you just make art and want someone to see it and talk to you about it let me know.

Hope this can be helpful to someone.

Me sees the end of an era coming. Instead of 'In on' posts, shouldn't this be: "I have (blank) to give"? Seems to be a social club more than a PIF thread.

I agree to a point, but that has been part of the draw to the thread, and it has helped keep it active and in view of people who might want to participate but wouldn't have seen it otherwise. It is how people fill the slow points.

Sorry, I'm new, and was just copying people who came before. I thought it was protocol, but what you say makes a lot of sense.

You're good man. The ideal situation is that many people would pay items forward, thus keeping the thread alive. The realistic situation is that people give things sporadically, often in bursts, and we like to keep a friendly atmosphere going in the meantime so people like yourself feel welcome to join. :)

I love ya Jim, you know that. But...We can have fun and pay it forward at the same time. It has evolved into a community for sure, and with that comes some chit-chat that isn't PIF related. We are certainly enjoying ourselves and have evolved into a PIF family of sorts. I think that's okay. I'm sorry you don't approve, and it does make me sad that you're not an active participant anymore...the people of this thread owe you a lot for being the person to start this whole phenomenon.

PS: did that darn JYD DLC ever arrive? That's the only issue I've ever had with USPS.

Take care, buddy.

The #8 thread was near the top thanks to posting to keep it active, so I'm really glad I saw it. ;)

Okay so I got the Cryo, and it is going to replace the shuffle I got from Egnar. Sooo...

I have a Kershaw Shuffle that I am offering. Only limitation is that you must live in the US. Post here that you want it then shoot me an email. (Claimed by dkb45)

I like how there's about 4 minutes between posts... almost like you spent 4 minutes admiring and getting so excited by the knife that you had to post again.... but I know we'd never do that here... it's not like we're crazy about good knives, right? :D

Okay, since my posts in #8 were not thought through very well...

I have a Kershaw Speed Bump, and I'm pretty sure (but not positive) they're discontinued. Took the pocket clip off but I might be able to find it again if you really want it, I'll look. Been sharpened maybe one time and hasn't cut anything but a few packages and bags of snacks. Basically brand new.

I wouldn't mind getting that Shuffle, but need to make sure I have something to give away in return first. I have a question floating out to one of the PIF guys, and I will come back with whether or not I would be interested in getting the Shuffle (don't want to take without giving right away).

Looks like a pretty cool knife. Whats with the thumb stud though?

(not a claim)

Meh, it's one of the reasons I don't like to use it. The thumb stud is also the lock once it is open. It's not a bad set up per se, but on my particular knife, the left stud doesn't move (even though it should) in such a way that allows me to release it to close. Not a big deal but as a lefty I'd prefer it did.

I haven't used this knife hardly at all, and certainly not for heavy work, so I can't speak to the reliability of such a locking system, but it should be okay for "everyday" things. I've never had a problem with it in my limited use of it, it just didn't suit me.
