Ok, I have a PIF offer for everyone. I got this in the second PIF thread (I believe it was the second one). Its a CRKT Slide Sharp. I used it a lot but found out I'm better at free handing edges. I did break about an inch off the course rod (leaned on it a little to much lol ) but it still works like before. I also made a little foam piece that stops the blade holder from smacking the top piece when the blade slips out. The stones do need to be cleaned. I might not be able to ship this out till next week.

My work sharp recently died so i have been needing some sort of sharpening system one of these i have an item coming soon that i will be able to pif if any one else wants it/needs they are welcome to it
 
I've always wondered about this Sharpener. Does it only have one angle? And how does it sharpen? I mean does it work well?

It looks like it has 2 angles, "fine" and "utility". It sharpens ok, but I like sharpening by hand more because I can get it sharper.

Not claiming it but I have to say, I have never seen a sharpener like that! It is pretty cool! Hopefully it really works! :)

Hey Ben,
I usually keep my mouth shut, but I feel something needs to be said. you have 10 total posts on bladeforums- of those ten posts,9 are claims or inquiring about claims and 1 is congratulating someone who won something you tried claiming. I think you are missing the point of this thread ( more like a movement). To Pay Forward things you don't use that others might need or do something or give something to someone just because. this isn't a gear hoarding free for all- I have claimed a few things (all but one was for other people but that's besides the point) but I have also paid a few things forward. I am in and out of here every once in a while, so for me to notice the pattern has to be pretty obvious. there are a ton of good people in here, please don't take advantage of them, take advantage of the opportunities that arise to help out someone who might be in need- the goal in this post isn't to make you feel bad, its to possibly open your eyes that there is so much more to this thread than getting free stuff- try the other end of the equation for a while, it feels pretty good-, i'd just hate to see you end up on " the list"- take care

Giving is the more fun aspect of this whole experience, believe me ;)

On a specific knife related note anyone here picked up a spyderco Hungarian yet? There is another thread about it, but i just picked mine up today (GPKnives, highly recommend buying from them). It is great looking, definitely stands out. The lock is Gayle Bradley-ish, which i like. The handle is kind of rounded, hard to describe, feels almost like it could roll in your hand. Will have to use it some, see how it performs. Anyone else handled one yet?

No but it's the first modern to catch my interest in a while. I've been on a traditional kick for the past year after being a long time modern guy. The handle looks really interesting to me. I will be interested to hear more about your experiences.
 
I'm off to bed, but wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I prob won't be on til after except to just peruse.


Also, my vote is people can try to claim any and everything they want. It is only an issue when they started receiving a bunch of stuff and greedily wanting more with no thought to passing any of their own stuff along.
 
I apologize as I had no intentions of appearing greedy. I have received one item and plan on giving something soon, my only problem is finding something to give. Once again I'm sorry if I came off poorly in my previous en devours.
