Have a good one all & gobble till ya wobble.
I'll be using my JK Toby's Knife to cut up my Cornish Game Hens.

I'm carrying my Oregon-made Kershaw Knockout! But I just may be tempted to slice the bird with my Opinel No. 8 :)

Great man! I would love to see what the Bolsters look like now! Snap a pic whenever you get a chance!

I liked it too, I picked it out of a pile to do, and picked the materials because they reminded me of guitar materials. I just buffed the Redwood, so after it dries out you may want to put a finish on it and buff it back out (just wipe 2-3 coats of some kind of clear coat, minwax, or I have heard of people using CA, sand off the very top of it with a fine grain paper [600-1000], and use some of the red/pink buffing compound). It was technically the 2nd knife I ever worked on, if you ever decide to get rid of it let me know and I'll offer something for trade back to it!

I hope you enjoy it, and I'm glad Bodnar got what he needed, you got a unique knife that you like.

Here are 2 pics of the knife as it is now:

I may polish the bolsters a little more and I will refinish the wood when it dries out. Is it Redwood as you said here or Rosewood like you said in an email? Just curious.

Wow man, that is one sweet looking camp recurve/kukri knife.

I've been after one like that myself fit awhile now, the KABAR "kukri machete"

That Buck 470 is a good user. I have one and had it for years, it was my go-to deer knife for several years.

It'll be a real good one for someone.

Hey mykel, I'd love to claim that buck 470 if still available. I've been looking for a good user lately. I'll e-mail you as well.

lol it's Rosewood! I get confused with woods all the time, it's definitely Rosewood, I just couldn't think of the correct word (I'm glad one of us knows wtf they are talking about haha). Looks good man, that is great that you were able to improve it.

Great! I really like it and I think I may pattern a slightly larger frame-style necker off of it.

And this thread is off the first page for the second time!

Understandable given the holiday and any black friday craziness people may be participating in. I am supposed to be working right now but instead am looking for knife deals. Knifeworks has a 5% off sale through December 2nd for any interested (they are a BF paid dealer and have always been great to buy from for me)

I've got another one to put up. A Cold Steel Bushman. Bought it because it's a pretty cool blade but I'll never use it. I don't think it has cut anything. I even still have the box it came in.

The only rule/stipulation is I would like it to go to someone who will actually use it. Not just stick a shaft in it nd throw it around the backyard. I think it could be a pretty decent camp knife.

that's a cool knife. My old roommate had one, all we did with it was stick it on a stick and throw it...
It would make a fine camp knife.

Not a claim (well not yet) but if no one grabs the Bushman after a day or two I would like to claim it for another member who is looking for one and would get some real use out of it. So maybe if i could claim first alternate?

Sounds good.

Very cool of the people putting up solid use fix blades lately.

That's one of the biggest gestures you can make on a knife forum in my opinion. There is just no more useful tool

You Cant seperate me fixed blade.
