I'm tickled with it. I have been wanting something with a different locking mechanism for a bit, something "like" an Axis lock where the release lets you keep your fingers out of the way of the blade. (But I'm not fond of BM, I'll just leave it at that). The Hogue is smooth as can be, the blade falls free when unlocked, and the release is positive and sure. It is obvious the scales are produced by an ergonomic-grip-directioned company, not just china designed with a name slapped on it. The scales are a bit on the wide side, but very comfortable. I took a ceramic stone to the inner edges of the scales, as there was an hard corner there. It was good though, crisply manufactured, not a lack of finishing. I think the only thing that would improve it would be the upmarket scales like neverdie36 said, as it is balanced a bit blade heavy. Other than that though, there were not corners cut on the FRN version that I can tell. I am really impressed with it and although I doubt it will ever displace my G-10 Endura as EDC, I plan to carry it some after I'm past the 3 knife experiment. When I'm not EDCing it, it will be close by in my carry bag for #1 backup.
I might can do that but I must ask whyI've been absent for a while, and next week my 'paycheck' for last month will arrive (well, it's a long story...). Anyhow, the walks to work I've been taking (I'd say over last week it would have been over 100 clicks) would mean once I get the money, I will have a bit to spare on my collection (it's not a collection as of yet, but hopefully will be soon enough) and am thinking whether it would be impertinent of me to impose on a kindly soul to PIF me a large-ish favour...
To cut a long story short- I was hoping someone, US based, would be kind enough to buy a few knives (sodbusters in two types/sizes, Svord Peasant and bivouac knife, and I keep thinking I'm forgetting something) for me, and once I send the money for the lot (maybe a stropping compound or two in addition to that) and shipping, and it is received mail it to me...
On 2nd thought, I withdraw.I might can do that but I must ask why
PS, if someone else wants to step in and take this; I will be easier for them than for me to do it
Sweet, glad it found a good home. Definitely getting more love from you guys. How did it perform?I can't remember screen name of of the person who pif'ed me this fixed blade (I know real name, but wont post that)...this was used to help skin my youngest boy's first buck ever. It was a small 4 pointer, but it was probably elk sized in his eyes (and beats what I or my oldest boy got...which was squat). Didn't help get the deer, but it did help me teach him how to dress it quite cleanly![]()
I made the lanyard when I got home yesterday, didn't want it boogered up

And to keep it relevant to thread, I'm offering up these cases for an Iphone (came off an Iphone 4S), don't need them now that I have the Galaxy S4. Can claim one or both. Two conditions: Must live in US, and must have offered something in the PIF's (or offer up now).

That custom "Fowler" isn't an Ed Fowler is it?
