Pay it forward thread...the remake!

Does anyone who doesn't have a sharpening method want that sharpening stone I put up ?
It's still available if anyone is interested. I just prefer that it would help someone who really needs it.
I haven't used it since I got my sharpmaker.
I Just want to bless someone else and pay it forward. Maybe someone is in the same boat that I was with very little money,
and your wife won't let you buy a stone. And your new to sharpening. I started with a Smith's pull through carbide sharpener (CRINGE !!)
Then I started watching videos on youtube and found out you can sharpen on a coffee mug. It gives you a good "toothy" edge, while functional, it's not anything great.
I was so happy when a friend gave me the stone.
The generosity of everyone on this thread has been mind blowing. Lets keep it up, to show there is still good will in the world.
 
Morning...a few pages back I think someone offered me a mora after I said I need a good fixed blade. While very generous I'll pass that opportunity to someone else. I really need more of a chopper or machete type action. Regardless it is the givng that counts so although I will scour the thread no hard feelings if I don't find something I need.

No problem. I was also in need of a big knife but I ended up deciding to make one.
 
It tends to relieve some of the load of refreshing on the server (I believe), and makes it easier to go back and find what you are looking for.
 
Wow, I was sure when I woke up this thread would be closed and the new one would have started :p Not much talk going on today

I could use the stone. I don't really have any sharpening equipment.
 
I hope this thread doesn't close down any time soon because I'm still shooting for #1000. But knowing my luck, someone else will probably get #1000 while I'm on my commute home or something.

We run it till we get to 1000, after that its give or take a few posts. But yeah I know what you mean, I am a slow typer so the odds of me getting the 1000 are very slim :( I did get the first post in the one PIF thread tho :D

Simple man, I believe you asked about best KA-BAR? I'll give you my opinion.

Its the 1247 Warthog. They've been out of print for 5years now but can still be found under the hundred dollar mark and are by no means rare.

That's best as far as Fighting/Utility models go. The thing will break if you beat the snot out of it. They all will.

Again, they have different lines in current production. Good luck breaking a 1277 Large Heavy Bowie, stick tang or not, that tang is .25" thick, differentially treated, and transitions smoothly from the blade (no Stress risers)

Could because it is a monday, or people might be waiting to be #1,000. Previous threads have gone in spurts too
