Port scanning is usually connected to attempts to hack into your system or use it for purposes other then you intended it for...

Allowing remote access to your computer should be done very carefully...
 
Anything and everything

Port scanning is only meant top check if a computer is accessible or not.

Using an open port one can plant viruses or better yet - Trojan horses - software that can take control of your computer from a distance and draft it to what ever end the penetrator wants..

This can be Dos attack, storing info on your hard drive or anything else.

If you did not get the picture yet- all this stuff is BAD for you...
